I don't see where the Carbing part is in this picture.

Can someone circle these parts and tell me what they're for. I know it's to stiffen up the chassis but how?

Yes, the white pieces (heh, they don't stand out TOO much....). There is a bar that goes all the way across.

MrHeeltoe, Is it possible to install the Trunk Brace Bar on top the trunk floor flap or under the trunk floor flap, which covers the spare tire well???

I was wondering the same thing. I definetly dont think you will be able to cover up the bar with the trunk carpet but after seeing this other JDM trunk brace Im thinking you could probably put the trunk carpet back in underneath the brace. You may just have to cut back the fabric a little at the mounting points

Another question that has been lingering in my mind is: What if you have a flat and need access to your spare, would you have to uninstall the trunk brace to get the spare tire and tools out?

It kind of bothers me when products are going to be sold to the American Market which are for Japanese cars and once you buy it THEY DON'T FREAKING FIT! I find it funny when businesses can't really be sure if their products will fit or how they fit.

Scroll through these pics, there is a couple shots of the bar in there somewhere.

The master cylinder brace portion will not be compatible.

Yes, that is how the trunk bar installs. I just installed one of these last weekend. The carpet section in the middle covering the tire can slide out and you can access the spare tire and remove it without removing the bar. The only thing you need to do is cut the foam jack/tool holder where the bar goes across. But you can completely access and remove everything once you cut the foam and trim the carpet at the back edge.

Install pics coming soon!

The LAB2 front lower brace looks stronger than the Cusco type 2 bar. How's the cat converter clearance on the USDM model? The pic looks to be a non-USDM cat.

No idea, but we will be looking into that once we get one in (someone want to order one?)

I have the Kunimitsu front lower brace sitting in my garage (looks identical to the Carbing, but it is red instead of white). The clearance on the back of the cat is fine, but it touches the heat shield in the front. Opposite to the Cusco Type-II, I guess.

I may take the heat shield off this weekend and try fitting it again to see if there are any issues, or if that resolves them. I know that removing the heat shield probably isn't a big deal, I'm just a little reluctant to. Seems kind of ghetto.

I beg to differ, it is not ghetto at all. Actually, you can remove the lower shield without removing the top...pretty decent way of doing it really.

I know you are probably right, in the back of my mind I just know it is on there for one reason or another. I actually had done the same thing to my old RSX for awhile (left top sheild on, removed bottom shield) to get the Carbing 6-pt brace to fit correctly.

Another thing I worry about is the cat heating the bar so much that it expands/contracts a significant amount thereby putting extra stress on the frame of the car during this cycling. It probably never gets that hot, though.

Anyone every notice their Cusco Type-II getting too hot to touch after a long drive, with the heat shield removed from the cat?

Anyway, I'll try putting it on again on Friday or Saturday and post pics of the clearance it it fits.

Did you ever get around to trying it?

I was looking into the cusco, but now I'm leaning toward the carbing

It is not likely any stonger. All of the pics are non USDM cars because these parts are desinged for JDM cars. As such I would not expect clearance to be much different. However the clearance on the Cusco bar is more than enough, despite what rumors you have heard.

The Cusco one is about half the weight of the Carbing one since it is aluminum.

I've installed all these on one customer's car and I must say they all work very very well. The car feels like a BMW now!
