Tail of the Dragon Mega-Meet Oct. 23-25
Ok, so everyone at the Stone Mountain meet was talking about going to the dragon in the fall, so we should start thinking about the days we'll go. I know it's early or whatever but I figured that since the Stone Mountain meet was planned early and had an awesome turnout, that this will be the same.

Tail of the dragon Lets do it...I'm worried that the mega meet talk is fizzling out so maybe we do a southeast meet??? Logistically a east coast meet mega meet is going to be tough (AWESOME) but tough...heres a teaser vid of the Dragon...

I was there on the July 20th, it is awesome. I prefer the drive going south through... I'm there whenever the meet is. Also check out killboy . com. They have pics and you'll see me in the cars section on the 20th.

I've looked a bit into this possible excursion, so I've went to the tail of the dragon website and got a few hotels, I dont know if this is going to be a day thing or there are some peeps coming as far as from FL. so here's a listing of local hotel accomodations, I will make some calls when I get some time, I am off this weekend so I may make a drive up to check out meeting places etc. its only about an hour and a half away from me so I dont mind at all...

yeah most definately, good to meet another a-ziner near me, I will def PM you if and when I get up there, would definately like to get some knowledge about accomodations and what not...plus I've never drove the dragon in my TL, this could be promissing...

. It is a blast to drive... The blue ridge parkway on the other hand 
was pretty but, the corners are flat and it is forever long.I plan on going up again when the car gets fixed and soon!!

yeah I know what you mean, the blue ridge parkway is more of a "OooHHH thats such a nice view" type of drive, the dragon on the other hand from what I understand can be a bit more involved. I'm really stoked about this one....if we could turn this into a weekend car meet that would be sweet...

"Interstate 40 from North Carolina into Tennessee is only for the bravest. We don't even like this route in the car! The lanes are narrow, the road is winding, and it is crowded with truckers tailgating at 60 mph. We were once delayed for 6 hours when a wide load stalled in a tunnel. I-40 is often shutdown one direction or the other because of rockslides or accidents. Just avoid this route at all costs."
this is from the website, so yeah I would assume that it would be on the way accept that your route would be backwards from what this is saying like you would be 40 going from TN into NC

The dragon is due south from Knoxville. When we where coming back from Memphis we took I140 S around Knoxville and took some other road south of that. If that makes sense... I may have had 1 or 5 beers and shots tonight so I hope it makes sense. South of Knoxville is where the Dragon lives.
