To sell or not to sell
To sell or not to sell
I'm at a crossroads. Bought my absolutely gorgeous 2011 TL Tech w/HPT in Nov. Since then my driving conditions have changed tremendously. I now live on 1-1/2 mile of dirt road. At first I thought it would work out and only drove under 20 to and from but now the maintenance on the road is horrible with no chance of changing. I even called the county commissioner to ask for better road maintenance but did not have any luck. As a matter of fact the roads are worse. A small business has moved in and large truck deliveries are daily and just destroying the road. I hear talk of them re graveling (with large crush and run) and that just sends chills up my spine!! So, my question is, would you sell? I absolutely love this car and it’s killing me to drive it on these dirt roads.
Any input would be appreciated.

I would not dare drive my Luci on a dirt or gravel road. The bad thing is the rattles that will develope over time as well as the dirt and dust that will get in EVERY part of the car. This will decrease the value of your car at a fast rate over time. Not to mention that as time passes you will tend to get faster and faster on the dirt. I tried it one time and it ruined my car. My advice is to sell while the car is in good shape before it is too late or as the DR. said.... MOVE.
Next question is.... What will you next if you sell?
Leftyzrevenge we think alike.... I'm leaning more toward selling because of the potential rattles and dirt in every nook and cranny!! I'm afraid the resale will be horrible if I wait too long. Others are telling me it will be fine but I don't know if I would buy a car that's been driven on washboard, dirt roads for very long.
Don't know what I would buy next. I don't like the acura suvs as much and I don't know if I want to spend the money on a new car again until the roads are paved. Maybe a used something?? Just wish I hadn’t bought the car because I really love almost everything about it.

I know what you mean. When I visit my home town I hate to even drive my car there. The roads are so poor.
As far as resale goes... You can rest assured that the value will drop with each rattle.
I would be at the next Commissioner's meeting. You can report the road on record there. Once it has been reported they have a short time to make the road fully passable. At that point it must also be passable at the posted speed limit or they must pay for damage caused to your car. This process I am sure will not make you popular in their eyes. Also, I am sure you would have to sue them to get your money or anything done. They won't understand your being upset and will talk about you like you are stupid for feeling that way as they leave in their $2500.00 junky truck.
At any rate, good luck with your decision.
