May 17th would be the only possible bet for me. Exams end the 15th and I drive home shortly after. If we were going to plan to meet on the 17th I could hold out a couple of days for the drive home.

I am down for it as well. I guess we will do it at the park and sometime this summer we need to do a little pool and cookout at my house. I have an outdoor bar that I am going to be completing by next month so we should all break it in.

Replacing some parts on the pool fence today and hopefully if the weather is nice, I am going to start on the bar this weekend. I have an old Tiki Bar that just didn't hold up as well as I hoped for so I need to build one the right way. I should be done by the 17th. That is as long as my business keeps me here and not out all over the state. I think if we setup a meet at a local park and did the pics and then drove to my house and ate and had some fun that would be cool with me. I live in Matthews (12 miles east of the city). I think the neighbors would be a little confused seeing 12-15 Acuras all around the house.

^ sounds like a plan to me =). now, if you need a helping hand the weekend prior to the proposed meet, let me know. i'm not sure exactly what you have going on, but some manual labor help couldn't hurt ...
pm if anything

Ladies and Gentleman, it seems as if the next meet will take place on Saturday, May 17th. I know a couple of you cannot show, but the majority of us can accomodate at that time. What's up for grabs at this time is TIME/LOCATION. * And IF mmade22 get his home project finished, we probably will be able to cruise on over for a bite.
Please list your thoughts on location and time now. I'm thinking 4pm would be great weather and leave us more than enough time to stroll down to Matthews as well
Keep em coming ...

^4:00 somewhere and over to John's place sounds good...we can stop at a store on the way there to pick up the essentials...if he's going to host us at his place, the least we can do is get the burgers and beer.

Sounds good guys...I appreciate the helping hand godfather and I may take you up on it but I got what I needed to get done today and the weather is holding up to do more on Sunday. I should have something going by mid-week. It will be cool to come to my house after the meet and hang out. Bring the bathingsuit, food, beer, girlfriend, wife, fiance, friend whatever with you want and we can relax and not worry about the cops running us out. I have a pretty good park near my house if you want to meet there. I need to remember the name of it.
I took the old fence and bar down today and pulled some of the deck boards up to support the bar I am building. Laid the cement pillers in so I don't have to worry about it caving in with the added weight. The party is on.....Here is a pic of what the place looked like today. Should be a lot different when the 17th rolls around.

Charlotteans get OK to wash cars
But only on Saturday or Sunday
BRUCE HENDERSON
bhenderson@charlotteobserver.com
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities customers may wash their cars at home, and fill swimming pools and fountains one day a week, beginning Saturday, the utility said this morning.
The water department allowed once-a-week lawn watering, banned since September because of drought, to resume April 5. Lawn irrigation may continue.
Continued rain made it possible to further relax the mandatory restrictions. Residential car-washing and filling of pools and fountains will be allowed one weekend day a week.
Customers with odd-numbered addresses may water outside on Saturdays, those with even-numbered addresses on Sundays. Watering must end by midnight.

I may be there on the 17th. Sorry I wasn't able to make the last one.... Been super busy with work and trying to get the house fixed up so I can sell it. Hope to see everyone there, also if we are gonna cook out, count me in on bringing a case of miller lite.

Did some work over the weekend and got some things done. Should have the bar framed up by this weekend and hopefully finished by the next. Cory, went to Lowes today and saw your car sitting there. I guess the lawsuit for Lowes if off??? I can't see how you could sue them and work for them at the same time. Here is the progress as of Saturday.....Will have more done when I return from Atlanta Tuesday. May 17th is looking good boys!

update on my tsx:
- picked up friday afternoon
- drove 800+ miles to DC and back to visit friends
- noticed rough ride, exhaust rattle, and plenty of squeeks
- diagnosed uneven ride height (right side of car is almost an inch higher!), faulty cat conv, and need a chassis lube
- car will be back in shop today
- don't know when i'm getting it back (sigh)

BC - saw that, too. I just wish I had an odd address as I prefer washing on Saturday.
mmade - work's blocking the pics
Hulk - I'm down your way all the time...was at that Lowe's Friday and Saturday, and killed Dragon Buffet Saturday night.
BH - coming up again? You guys look for any excuse to get away from the kids, don't you?
GF - I'd get that thing "good enough" and sell it.

it's been tough trolling around town in my beater - that thing smells like cigarettes/bread/egg cartons in conclusion, i want her back, want to install hondata reflash, and enjoy for at least another year. IT'S NICE NOT HAVING PAYMENTS.
ALTHOUGH, if i got a decent offer on my car, i'd consider it and go buy a CPO awd crv and chill out for a few years

^Dude, don't sweat the beer, there's enough of us geezers to cover that. Just get some kind of food...there are times when it's worth it to take risks and/or jump through hoops for things, but this isn't one of them.
EDIT: we really should get a list going of who's coming to what and what they're bringing.

and we need to get back on track for planning purposes as well:
meet is on SATURDAY MAY 17 in the afternoon (time to be determined)
as far as location goes: freedom park again, THE PARK NEXT TO MMADE22's house, elsewhere?
my vote goes for park next to mmade22 house. that way noone can get lost on the way to the festivities
please offer suggestions

jack, it seems as if you and i are going to have to take the lead on this thing. park next to john's house at 3 sounds good to me as well. that'll net us a couple hours of car talk/pics w/ plenty of time left over to grill out and swim if you so choose.
JOHN, have you figured out the name of that park yet?
once meet is confirmed, we'll start a running tally of who's bringing what.
sound good?

OK, the park is about 3 miles away from my house and there is a Harris Teeter along the way. I would say meet at the park at 4:00 and hang for an hour or so, then stop off at the store on the way to the house or everyone can shop before hand if they know what to bring. Does this sound ok with everyone? Here is the info to the park and there are 3 parking areas. Go into the park and make the second left and drive all the way to the end. The parking lot is pretty big there. Not sure if there will be a game going on at that time. Let me know what everyone thinks.
