The TLX is an amazingly boring car. I don't see the value in it, especially compared to the competition (like the Accord).

First lets take a look at these two pictures and Compare:
2015 Honda Accord
2015 Acura TLX
I see some significant aesthetic differences...
-Crisper Body Lines
-Sits lower (barely, but still)
-Probably Lighter weight wheels
-Larger tires for ride quality
-Shaped mirrors for more aerodynamics
-Probably larger brakes
-More elegance in apperance
Performance:
-TLX comes with a 290hp V6
-Accord is 278hp V6
-TLX has SH-AWD
-Accord has none
-TLX has Precision All Wheel Steer
-Accord has none
-TLX Starts at $30k
-Accord Starts at $22k
-TLX Comes standard loaded with features
-Accord cost alot more with extra features.
I've spent 5 Minutes writing this and I see way more that I could write about... however I will let the car speak for itself.

Hang on a second, let's compare production model vs production model.
Accord:
TLX:
Now, I absolutely loved the TLX concept. Then they put out the production model in the same boring color combinations they've been running with for years, with watered down bumpers, increased ride height, and ugly wheels.
Having seen it in person doesn't help its case for me. The front looks great, aside from the squinting headlights. The side profile is bland. The curvature of the side windows does not match up with the roofline, and the rear isnt memorable.
The interior feels cheap. For a $40k car (I sat in the fwd 3.5 model), the steering wheel should not feel like rubber, but it does. The seats offer zero thigh support, and they seriously feel like they were lifted from an Accord. I really wanted to like the car, but I couldn't help but think that $40k can buy you a much more pleasant car to be in - cars like the Genesis, Accord Touring (which is just as fast in a straight line as the 3.5 TLX, and the SHAWD weight penalty does not make it faster than the FWD model to 60), ATS/CTS, Q50, or IS350. I just don't see the value in it. Thankfully for them, they've been selling a good amount of them, but it doesn't add up to what the 3G TL + TSX yearly numbers were (the TLX is supposed to replace both cars). They are still selling more than the 4g, so congrats to them.
Here's hoping they manage to put out a Type S with more power (which it desperately needs), nicer bumpers, interior, wheels and suspension.

No RWD, no forced induction, no manual transmission...where's the thrill exactly?

If they had that prototype TL for sale I would be trying to buy that thing hard. BUTTTTT no. They had to axe everything that was good and go and be lame. I wonder how many they would have sold of the prototype.

Anyone like red robin?
On Tuesdays and following a panthers win, you can get a free taven double burger if you purchase an entrée and two beverages. I'm about to go take advantage of this.

not sure who all has Velocity channel but they reviewed the TLX on motorweek, ironic considering the discussion. it airs again at 2:30am for those that want to record

I think it's mostly due to the extravagant wheel gap and the stupid looking wheels they present the car with.

Well today I took a drive over to Motion Lab to get a quote on getting my car re-tuned. The car was previously tuned by Draco and is making 280whp - 310wtq on 16lbs. I dont have the money right now to get the Cobb Accessport V3 so Im gonna go with an open-source tune. Alex, one of the guys there, said I could up the boost to 20 lbs, but, my stock tmic wouldnt last very long. So, Im gonna boost it up to 18 lbs and probably gain <50 hp/tq. Only problem is the tune is $500.
My other alternative is to slowly acquire some parts (tmic, injectors, intake, and maybe some more supporting mods) then get the car tuned.

Remember the more parts you add, the potentially less reliable the car may become...
If you go too far without prep you may end up being over your head.
If it was me, TMIC, Intake, down pipe off the turbo (if it hasnt been done), better turbo (if the option is available), then up the boost a little....
Thats not a bad price for a tune....
Quarterlife Crisis....

^ I'd say TMIC, DP, UP (especially if stock, since those are catted and have a tendency to shred and destroy the turbo) and a 18g turbo. Get open source tune. Done.

U need a boost controller? Lol I gots one for the low, it a blitz ebc the old sequential one. I wouldn't tune at least till u start messing with fuel or the turbo. 500$ is that with dyno time? And if so how much time. Howard at rlz tuned my Lsv for around 500$ that included chipping my ecu. Don't know what fair for u awd guys.

Here's the email I got from Alex this morning
Bryan,
Looks like a great list man! You have just about everything you will want except for that all aluminum top mount. You already have the EBCS from what I can see on your list, so all its gonna take is some fresh spark plugs, the intercooler upgrade, and some dyno time and we should have some nice results around 20PSI. Based off current power output we can expect to see around 310WHP fairly easily. We can baseline the car before getting into the tuning so we can show you the real difference without having to speculate what the baseline might have been.

So the guys from Acura Crew want to set up an 'After Party' for Tuner Evolution.
I'm thinking beer and wings at Taco Mac's in the university. Like a 20-25 Minute drive from the Arena.
Anyone else have any thoughts in regards to places to eat up that way or things to do that might be low cost and fun?

So I'm pretty sure my friend Matt died from an overdose while doing heroin on Tuesday night. The people he was with, whom are employees at Metrolina, are acting like they don't know what happened. The autopsy will reveal what was inside Matt.

... Idk why 'friends' or 'fellow' employees choose to act like that... it does not make any sense...

I watched some videos today about heroin addiction and it's simply a terribly addictive drug and it's very dangerous and it's easy to overdose these days due to the potency.
And thank you Sir.

Sorry for your lost, heroin is a very strong drug, It don't take much to get hooked and before you know it, the problem has escalade into something that hard to come back from. I try to encourage my family youth to not do drugs or gangbang or stuff like that. I went through it all growing up and it just a bad road to get on. A lot of my family now is regretting those days, life is always better without drug or violence. My prayer goes out to your friend and his family.
