I mentioned this awhile back on here when I first began looking.

I'm primarily looking at '09-'10 M3

Been looking at a CPO at a local dealer here. It's an '09 Metallic Grey with black interior (I prefer Fox Red though). Has 26k miles and they want $55k. I'd like to get a '10 one with less miles but looks like I might have to travel a bit to get one. I still have a lot of deciding to do but that's where I'm at a the moment. I'm still not certain whether I want the 2 or 4-door version of the M3 either.

Get the 4-door. It's much more understated and doesn't scream "race me". Plus when you want the soon-to-be-wifey plan to have kids, you don't have to get rid of the 2-door and get a 4-door. You'll already have it

I agree BUT having 4 doors is a blessing. I usually don't have a lot of people in my car but I'm constantly putting shit in my back seat.

Besides the fact I love the IS-F I do wish I lot of the time I would have gotten a 2 door. When I was in school having the CL with only 2 doors was annoying at times cause I would put stuff back there a lot. However I hardly ever am putting stuff in the back seat of the F and really only the trunk. I wish I would have gotten the coupe want out of my system now before kids will be in the picture down the road.

I won't have any of it. My goal in life is a barren existence, and I plan to stick to it .

I agree.

If I opt for another sedan I'd likely get something other than an M3. I'm thinking the S63...or possibly the S65 at just under $200k should suffice. I hear they're pretty roomy...which will be a plus considering I'll have to live in it .

at getting S65. If you can afford that why are you even looking at M3.

Good luck at your other goal. I bet there will eventually be a little Brian running around.

I was obviously kidding Jason...gees. Of course I'm not seriously debating between the two...I'm obviously moving forward and purchasing the S65

And no, I seriously will never have kids. I hate kids.

Tell me about it. A few months ago I thought I was done after my black roof and new brakes but now I've got my eye on the ATLP V2 j-pipe and race pipe. It's so hard to save money and not spend it

Gotcha. My girl once both kids (2) and a dog or dogs even. I want one or the other. The later would be cheaper and allow me to continue my hobbies much easier.

I have been saving a good amount of money with being just over halfway through the year while still spending some on the F. Then I realized the other day I haven't counted the money I need to buy the new parts for the TSX upgrade project that will take place during the rebuild so now I will have hardly saved any money for the year. Seems like next year I will just be enjoying my cars and not spending on them.

I have one just like that but it was made by a vendor a few years ago.

Old pic btw. I now have an Alpine mesh cover on the sub.

Tyler was the Vendor by chance unclad or uncald or something like that? If so I believe wasn't selling enough of them so he stopped and now instead sells them through HeelToeAuto. It pretty much has to be the same cause I remember the vendor on here posting pics once which were stored on his site that had reference to GigHarbor which is who HeelToeAuto gets them from.

I can think of 3 Cookout locations here in the area. I'm there probably every other week.

...Yeah that's exactly what I'm looking for. My box takes up all my trunk space...plus all I want is the one sub anyhow. I guess I could do both corners but I'm not going to. Is there room for the amp behind it or does it have to be mounted elsewhere?

I have mine mounted under the rear deck...

I took the carpet piece off, cut around where the amp is, and fitted it back on.

Just make sure you mount it right side up. Never good to mount amps upside down. Another option would be to buy a JL HD Amp because they are super small and will fit under the passanger seat.

jason - this is the deck lid spoiler i ordered: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PAINT...item19c858712a

the actual OEM one is like $200+ and from what i here this seems to be just as good...we'll soon see

also, my side markers will be here this week (or possibly monday)...the tails are going to be another 3-4 weeks! (out of stock)

if i could find the same DEPO tails somewhere else, i'd get them from there but i haven't been able to find them.

Just what I have heard from friends that work in the industry. They mount amps like you have shown all the time but they a tray to mount the amp in first so it is up right. I know a lot of people do it the way you have done but I know they never do installs with them upside down.

Sounds awesome.

Here I found a couple taillight options for you. Personally what about just doing a set of Type-S tails I think they look really good as well.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-08...#ht_4100wt_939

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-...#ht_7214wt_939

I always seem to be in the minority of this one as most people don't seem to like this kit but I love it. If you kept your current wheels it would go great with the luxury look. However the correct way in my opinion to paint the kit would be to paint the middle section between the exhaust flat black.

Also figured I would find you some other good deals in the forsale section to tempt you with as well.

https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/atlp-injen-cai-sarona-roof-spoiler-progress-rsb-f-f-type-2-5-illuminated-sills-829949/

I think the roof spoiler looks great on the 3g TL and it all ready comes painted the correct color.

The Form and Function 2.5 coilovers are not a bad deal for $850 either.

Some explanations.

In a typical amp, the "bottom" of the amp is removable and the top (and sides) is the heatsink to which the PCB is attached?? If you were looking at the amp from the top (which is how it would be if it was mounted typically), the PCB is mounted on the top and facing downwards with the components on the PCB facing the bottom.

Heat rises....so, the components that generate heat are heating up the PCB.

The components that shed heat are clamped to the heatsink.

The heatsink is to be exposed to the air, and heat rises, so inverting an amp with the heatsink facing down, means a lot of heat is being trapped inside the amp instead of coming off the top.

Also another note as well when mounting to the rear deck.

DO NOT screw the amp directly into the sheet metal. That will likely ground your amp’s chassis to your car and could very well give you issues (amp goes into protection; noise). Use mdf or whatever to space the amp off the sheetmetal.

I highly dislike that RonJon kit. Not sure what it is but I just don't care for it one bit.

I actually just ordered the complete Aspec kit this morning anyway. Literally just ordered it like 10mins ago. If I happen to get quad tip exhaust I'll just get the Type-S rear so no biggie.

Yeah I'm honestly thinking about getting the Typs-S tails. If I don't like them I'll just get new ones.

A lot of those items in that link are gone already. I liked that roof spoiler too.

Yeah unfortunately that last one will be the most costly!

The rate I'm going at though it's certainly not out of the question

Is Jason's Installation Services LLC available in the next week for another round of installs?..

Yes at your going rate you minus well order now and get it over with. Maybe it will make you keep the car longer while looking for the perfect M3. You should probably just keep it when you get an M3. Also you should probably ship it to my house as well to save some headaches.

Girlfriend is getting in the 1st and leaving the morning of the 5th so I could do the install on Monday or also Tuesday or Wednesday after work as well. I am going home the following weekend to attend a PSU football game.

Lol...if I do order the exhaust it's ALL coming straight to your house!...along with my new Type-S rear, ha.

Oh I have no plans on selling my TL when I get a new car. I just said I'd likely stop modding it because I'll likely be to enthralled with my new car to even car about it at that point, but who knows.

Those install dates sounds good.
