LOL I was in bed by midnight last night I was exhausted. Thanks to Jack for coming up and lending me a hand yesterday to finish my suspension install on the F.
Here are some sneak peak shots of it with the newly refinished wheels on and the back dropped about 1/4in over stock. Can't go lower without rolling rear fenders.

always nice to put a face to a name so here's a pic of me. if u ever see me out-n-about feel free to say what's up.
and yes i know there's an area for this on the main page TL page but no sense in posting it there. and yes i know the pic is blurry...gotta love cell phone cameras.
i'm not looking for anyone to follow suit here or anything either...if u want to that's cool but certainly not expecting it

hey jason...u still looking good for this weekend? i'm hoping the top hats come in by then...they should. i'm still waiting on my tails & side markers too but more so concerned with my coils at the moment. the fact that i have a set of coils sitting in my house, all while i'm rolling around donked out, is killing me. i'm tempted to put my stockies back on until i get my coils installed to avoid further embarrassment...lol.

What wheels do you have on the car right now? Don't recall seeing pics of them. I am still good for this weekend yeah. Just so you know though it is probably a 4 hour minimum to 6 hour job depending on how rusted the bolts are.
How long were you living in NY with your car and how many winters did you go through?

Also just read a post by you in the TL section that you have Megan Racing Coilovers on your TL already? If so why are you switching to TEIN Street Basic?

from MI...not NY. my car saw about 3 or 4 winters. i had an suv also so i didnt drive it all the time in the winter.
the megan coilovers is a bummer story...they were never on my car...i had to sell them to my buddy at work who has a TL. reason being, my pup had to take an emergency trip to the vet and ended up staying there for 3 days (got bit by a spider). it ended up costing an absurd amount of money so i sold my coilovers to help pay for it...however it barely touched it. any posts regarding megan coilovers was likely me jumping the gun. still bums me out i had to sell them. if i was smart i probably would've bought those again...they looked great on my buddies TL. for the drop i want, i was basically told teins would cover it so i just got those.
right now i have 20" wheels on. they're just like the split multi-spoke M3 wheels. they look nice, but will look 10x better when lowered. they're 20x8.5 +35. i've talked to a couple other guys with this setup and some of them are slammed...and no fender roll or anything so i should be fine.
on a side note, i can likely get access to a setup where we can use an impact gun...if that helps.
as far as time goes...i got all the time in the world. no plans at all this weekend. i'm actually somewhat looking forward to working on my car.

Ahhh man that sucks. Glad you pup is ok no though. The impact gun could be used to to help put the top hats on but I have been reading a couple install guides for the TL and it shouldn't be a problem without. Most of the install is like my TSX I just didn't have to use hot hats since the setup came together.
Do the new top hats from heeltoe come with washers as well?

yeah its a full on kit. i'll have the top hats already assembled on the coils before we even start.
u dont need an impact to do the top hats. i'm just gonna hand assemble them and torque to spec (22 ft-lbs) and call it a day.

Oh awesome even better. Should be a relatively painless install then as long as things aren't to rusted and then its not really painful just waiting for the pb blaster to do its stuff and loosen everything up.
Posting these so I don't have to go back and search for them again haha.

yeah i have that one with the tein install too...it shows the 1" ref dimension they want u to do the initial install to but i'm not doing that. gonna put them on lower than that. as i said, i was talking to guys with tein setups can install them at .5" or even .25" with no problem...as long as ur setup for it...which my wheel n tire specs seem to be. 20x8.5 +35 w/ 245/30/20. if i end up needing a camber kit then so be it.

In your previous thread you mentioned not wanting to roll the fenders? What is the real reason you are against that? You can have them rolled without pulling them and as long as it is a place that knows what they are doing you won't have problems with the paint. Euro-wise in Charlotte can do them and I have seen there work and it is good.

i just dont like the idea of it and will avoid if i can. however, if i can find a very reputable place to do it--if i need it--then i'm open to it. i also said i didnt want to lower my car too much and now i'm considering maxing out my teins. i change my mind frequently. i've already had three sets of wheels on my car so there's an indication right there...

Join the club. On my TSX I change the wheels every year. Worst part about it is I have never sold a set of them. I was against rolling my fenders for the longest time with the TSX. I finally did it two years ago and wish I had done it sooner. It came out great and makes wheel fitment so much easier. I have zero negatives to report about mine. Mine was done by a body shop in Philadelphia otherwise I would refer you to where I went.

Haha thanks. Everything in the garage is not technically mine just stuff I have driven over the years. The TSX and IS-F are mine. The CL-S was mine and now my brother has it (sad to see how he treats it since it was such a good car). The Suburban is my dads and is an absolute tank. I loved it. Drove it for 3 years while attending school in Rochester, NY. With the meaty tires that were on it I could do 70mph in 8in of snow no problem and it would still stop like it was dry out.
Was checking out another one of your threads again haha. Where did you get the vinyl work on your car done? I want to get my rear section of my bumper wrapped so its like how BMW's have the black plastic section around the exhaust on the car.

here's a pic of my truck like a week before i sold it. she's nice and dirty like always!

Is that your house man? That places looks awesome. Mooooore pics ![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Yeah I definitely want a truck again. I have a fully enclosed trailer for the TSX so that is why my dad has a 2500. I will probably get a used new body style (same as Suburban and your Avalanche) Silverado LTZ 2500 diesel in addition as my next vehicle. It will be good to have once I have a house for doing projects as well as towing the trailer.

Do you work down town or are you talking about going at night? If you mean going during the day then I would be down as long as it is not on Thursday. We might even be able to get Jack to come as well maybe.
You going to try and make Tmac this week as well?

Trying to catch up...
Best burger in Charlotte - The Liberty. They'll do medium-rare even though it's illegal.
Tyler's car - it sucks, so don't feel bad about talking trash about it
...you should've seen it with the 20's AND wheel gap ![Snicker](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/emot-laugh.gif)
Tyler knows I'm kidding LOL![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The ISF came out great. I still like the other steering wheel with two CF sections better.
Supposed to be going to Rusan's tomorrow. Y'all are welcome to join, although I can't guarantee a time to be there. I'm also up to go again later in the week, with a more set time.![Yum](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/yum.gif)
Going to get to TM late this week...not happy about that

If you leave by 4pm you can make it to TM by 5pm. I have done it on a couple occasions when I work from home. Even if you can't leave till later we are normally there until 9 or 10 so even if you don't arrive till 6 you will have plenty of time to hangout and have some beers.
what did your user title say cause I just realized it says [Mod censored title] now?

Damn dude that is rough. I get what you are saying now. I love being in IT. I got to pick my start time anywhere between 6:30am and 9:30am. Then just work my 8 hours plus either a 30min or 1hr lunch and sometimes I don't even take lunch. I am out by 3:30 on most days.
This week we may be down even longer cause I believe the Eagles preseason game is on at 8 so I will probably stay and watch the entire thing at Tmac so I don't miss part of it. If you can't make one no worries you can enjoy the thrill of TacoMac in Oct at the meet.

I'm sorry. I do start at 7:30am most days so that means working straight through no lunch. Otherwise it is 4 or 4:30.
