SoCal Regional Coordinator

Sorry guys, Ive been out of the loop for a while. Mom passed this year, house flooded.....just all around shitty year for me so far.

Im told we dont have a So Cal Regional Coordinator. So instead of me picking one which I think would be totally unfair Id rather you guys vote.

So start throwing out some names of who you would think who'd best represent your Region. Ill let it go a few pages and we'll go from there.

Thanks everyone.

I've only started becoming more active on the boards recently now that my S2K is complete (and probably on the way out) and from what I've seen, it's been pretty quiet. What does a Regional Coordinator do?

My condolences on your loss. Sending positive vibes your way!

Damn that sucks. Hope things get better for you now.

In replacement of Henry aka Xtreme626 I would say me, just because I am "very active" on the forums.

But on the real, I say me since I pay attention to the things going on in the So Cal section+2g(even tho it's semi dead) and actually made the request to get a new coordinator since Henry rarely comes on here nowadays.

my condolences too... cant imagine how its been like for you, hope it starts turning around.

SoCal has been pretty dead as for TL's... As for TSX is a different story since they got their own club/forum made for car enthusiasts... Been bumping into lotsa ppl in lots or at stoplights and seems like AZine is not that "known" around 909/626. Ive asked owners and most just dont see their cars as we do. there are unfortunately only a small handful of us (TL) enthusiasts around.

Honestly, I was disappointed coming back to Acurazine from S2ki. There's not much a sense of community and outreach here. I'm hoping we can somehow bring that back! I'm always willing to help and bring this community together.

I know how you feel, i tried bringing the community closer with meets thrown by me. Luckily the first meet turned out amazing, the next two were just me and like 3 other guys.WA

I know its hard.....back in the OG days i used to get some crazy meets together.

I think mostly now people just dont wanna put in the time it takes. I would get frustrated because some would say they cant make that day, others would say lets do this day.

Then when you say "fuck it" and give up like i did. Someone comes in and says "when we gonna meet up?"

That's pretty much what i went thru. If you check out the last meet thread i made you'll see how descriptive i get of the area and show pictures to help people with directions and location. I really only do that to help motivate people to come.

So Cal Azine needs to step up it's game.

Hopefully we get a "comeback meet" before the year is over

The problem with SoCal is that nobody (99.9%) wants to drive more than 5 minutes to a meet and so those that do set up meets end up setting it up in their backyard and then no one else will drive there. No one ever compromises and thus car meets always fail here. Also, SoCal should learn a lesson or 500 from NorCal where they don't just concentrate on one area only. NorCal actually means northern California. They spread it out so that everyone has to drive some distance eventually if you want to go to all the meets. SoCal does not mean just one small section of Los Angeles.

That's why I tried compensating for everyone from NoHo, the OC, SGV/Alhambra area, by having a meet in Walnut, BUT still only me and 4 other members were there... and 1 of those members were there to buy a wheel off me, which made the meet somewhat better... and he never owned an acura, just a 6g accord sedan with a slightly modded J32a2+6speed

Then there was that TSXclub/My8thgenaccord/Acurazine BBQ meet in SD and I would say only a handful of people there were there for Acurazine. I only say a handful due to a majority of the guys who went were TSX owners that went for TSXclub. Even with that meet being in SD, I don't recall any Azine member from there coming to the meet. Since it was a mash up of the forums it was fun since no one knew who each other were but could easily spark a conversation, which my dad and I really enjoyed.

Lastly I remember when one of the homies(n1njai) posted here about a meet in the OC, and no one replied other than me.... So it was just me, him, his friends from liberty and royal origin and a few other random people who saw the invite from FB and came out. Even with it being every other week no other Aziner posted on the thread.

Just my thoughts and experiences

best place for the meet was in hacienda heights area where i always had the bbq meet at thomas burton park

it was almost like a central location from northridge to south orange county to the people out in pomona/san bernardino area

although there wasn't much to do after the bbq.. its still something.

i honestly tried to cater to a lot of people but after a certain time.. people just bitch and moan about the location and go plan some sort of other meet.. thats one of the reason i stopped planning any sort of thing..

and for finding a regional coordinator..

imo, it would probably be best to atleast have 2 so not one person gets all the work

^That wouldn't be bad at all, especially since San Diego guys usually don't come near the LA area and vice versa unless it was a big meet.

personally i think walnut is a horrible spot to meet up because it seems out of everyones way since you say we should set somewhere inbetween everyone.

^Then why did everyone go out of their way to go to Chino Hills, which is even further from people who are close to the bay area.

jjasshaa already mentioned Hacienda Heights being the central location from Northridge to the OC, and it's right next to Walnut.

I remember there were guys that came out from North Hollywood to come to Chino, and that's already a 50 mile drive, so it's not even about people going out of their way for the meet.

we actually once had a meet by the beach and had a cruise down.... er.... up? pch

good turnout from what i remember.. i couldn't make it but it sure looked nice.

honestly.. the way i see it..

we can do small mini meets within cities/areas for some good ice breakers within locals and then do a nice big one every 2-3 months or something.

....and that's exactly what I'm trying to work on which is why I created the roll call thread. First I need to see where everyone is at (I'll also be creating a pin map). Then, I can propose a few ideas that'll be feasible to all our members.
