license plate lights

I am planning to purchase some ultra blue LED bulbs for my license plate lights, is it legal in California?

I have heard from my friend that it is all depends on the cop’s mood that day, is that true?

if it depends on the cops mood then it's illegal.

in general the rule of thumb is no red or blue lights on the front of your car, no blue lights in the back, i don't have a reference to link you to but the internet and google are your friends, you can always find laws on google faster than you will get it here.

i believe any color besides the ugly yellow or white is illegal. just stick with white.. its more brighter and luxurious than blue..
