good place to get oil change
Where do you guys get your oil changed? I was thinking of going to the dealer but I bet it will be expensive. Any good places that do a good job and their prices are not expensive?
I buy the oil at Walmart. That way, you get to pick the oil. I bought the Quaker State Ultimate Durability 5W-20 Synthetic. It's about $23 including tax.
I buy the OEM filter at my local Honda dealer (it is the same filter). Go to the dealership's website, and they often have an internet discount coupon. I got the filter for about $6 including tax. I also have a bunch of drain plug washers that I got online, don't remember what I paid.
I go to a local independent mechanic that I found on Yelp. The local mechanic only charges me $10 labor, when I bring him the oil and filter.
So the total for my oil change is about $39. Often, dealerships advertise oil change specials for approximately that price, but I had enough of the stealership lies and upsells. I am also using a name brand synthetic motor oil instead of the stealership cheap bulk oil.
It works for me.

I get the 5 qt jug of Pennzoil Platinum which also happens to be on special right now. Walmart has a $5 coupon around the necks of the jugs and there's also a rebate for a $10 Shell Gift Card... so approx. $23 - $5 coupon - $10 rebate = $8 for 5 qts.
If it's the 15400-PLM-A01, then $6 is a fair price. If it's the 15400-PLM-A02, you're paying $6 for what's essentially a Fram orange can filter you can get at Pepboys, AutoZone, Kragen, etc for around $4. Nothing wrong with it... just overpriced for what it is.
i get my oil changes done at home, no point in taking it to a place where you pay for labor, plus you'll know for sure that no one is trying to screw up ur car
it's such an easy job, just DIY

Same as everyone else .. I change my own oil . I don't trust anyone else to do it .. BUT if you must bring it somewhere to be changed bring it to a shop or dealer . NOT WAL-MART!!! .
If you had a toothache You wouldn't go to a coffee shop for help ! right? So why would you take your car to a grocery store for a oil change? think about it .. trust the professionals. pay a little more and go to a shop or Dealer. and that's my
