hrm, i need some advice on whether or not i should get a radar detector.
there's a detector on sale at the moment on newegg for a whister xtr690 for $99. Decent reviews, especially for the price. By no means is it a V1 or 9500xi but I guess it does the job decently with the ka band. I don't condone speeding but I tend to go over the speed limit every now and then by 10-15mph. I almost never go above 80mph. I also have never gotten a speeding ticket. Knock on wood..haha.
What do you guys think? Should I get a detector or go on w/o one considering that I've never received a speeding ticket.

^^ For reason, I can't trust any other RD but V1 or 9500xi.
I say get a v1 and call it a day... they hold their value pretty well so if you ever decided to sell it back on market, you will most of your money back.

V1 or Passport.... gahhh I Dunno they're both good. Don't get those crappy ones. I ad a cobra one (i think) and all it was good for was to find grocery stores. It beeped like hell at grocery stores.... and not at cops.

O man, I had a Cobra one back when I just got my license(15-16y/o) I remember one time i spotted a cop with my own eyes(like 1 street away).. weird thing was, it started beeping one i was 5 feet away from the cop, literally....
Ever since then, i threw that POS out...
Get a radar detector that is worth at least one ticket.. I'd be willing to spend 350+ if I could do it all over again... I'd probably WOULD have saved thousands on tickets..

I just paid it off a couple weeks ago, 286 with traffic school. I had to go to court in Compton too, such bs. Must've been the most unlucky day of my life.

x2 about the V1.. I think you can find some on craigslist for pretty good deals, last i checked(which was like months ago..)

I don't wanna burst your bubble, but I was going 75 in a carpool lane coming back from the valley. Got pulled over near Carson, I was only 10 minutes away from home. Asshole gave me a speeding ticket, on the spot, wouldn't even let me see the gun... I just paid it off a couple weeks ago, 286 with traffic school. I had to go to court in Compton too, such bs.
