Support Question: Popup ads
Thanks for the screenshot, Sarlacc.
We're currently looking into additional measures we can take against these ads, including potentially reformatting our ad code and implementing additional filters. We appreciate your patience while we work to sort out the issue.

Thanks for the details and screenshots, Christopher. These rogue ads have become a big problem on the web as a whole, so much so that Wired recently wrote an article about the issue. We're continuing to explore various options to fix them, and I hope to have good news on that front soon.
In the meantime, there is a workaround for Android users like yourself. Google is building a blocker into Chrome that specifically targets these types of ads. You can enable its beta right now by going to the following URL in your phone's Chrome browser and changing the highlighted dropdown to "Enabled": chrome://flags/#enable-framebusting-needs-sameorigin-or-usergesture

In recent months the pop ups have become unbearable (Android, Chrome). I would be redirected away from Acurazine any and every time I used it. It would always be some kind of scam, ie you've won something. I would have to close the browser and start from scratch.
Today though I have been browsing on my phone for about 15 minutes and haven't been interrupted yet. I recently saw a story about a long-awaited update to Chrome to fix issues like I was facing here.
I know this isn't a solution for everyone but for up-to-date Android and Chrome users, AZ is working fantastically with no pop ups now.

One fix I heard is to disable javascript.
Ive heard most people don't really need to reactivate it. Maybe once in a while
Interestingly I'm still running iOS 10 and haven't come across those ads yet.

Hi everyone,
I haven’t been on Azine in some time but I look at some of the threads from time to time. Anyway, I was looking today and saw what you have going on here. It can be tough for the Admins to block these pop ups without having the full URL (which can also be difficult to get when your screen is locked up with the pop up). Anyway, I’m on Spyderchat.com since I own an MR2 Spyder (my 06 TL is my brother’s car now) and using an iPad, I’ve had similar issues there. It’s mostly with the chrome app and also sometimes on Safari. What I’ve had to do is unload and reload chrome when it gets locked up and since that’s a pain, I now use the app called AdBlock Browser, which is free on the App Store (not sure if they have it for Android). The app author is Eyeo GmbH and the symbol for it is a half stop sign in red on the left and an earth on the right with the stop sign covering the left half of the earth. It works very well and blocks those annoying pop ups. I actually prefer it over safari and chrome. On Spyderchat, they’re trying to get the ads blocked but so far have been unsuccessful, so this browser has worked well.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the screenshot, Costco. Can you send me another one or two as you continue to see the issue? I just want to see if there's any shared traits between them, such as URL or the wording of the ad.
I can certainly appreciate the desire for an ad-free experience, but the ads displayed across the site help to foot the bill for the upkeep of AcuraZine. That said, we do limit the number of ads for members. As long as you remain logged into your account, you should see fewer ads.
