The Official Wagon/Avant Discussion Thread

I would have loved to stay in the Toyota family, but when I bought new in 1996, the Accord wagon was much better looking than the Camry wagon. Though i really wanted the dual rear wiper and the 7 seat Camry wagon, I couldn't get over the rear overhang.

I'm not finding any positive articles about the ride or the drivetrain in the V90 at all. "Loud, wheezing, bumpy, intrusive, buzzy, jarring, etc." all are words used to describe those two areas of the car. I cannot tolerate cars like that and won't even bother looking at them now that I've heard those monikers. Might just have to settle for a 3 series or a E Class as much as I don't want to.

I know it’s silly, but after the debacle of an E36, I cannot bring myself to consider BMW. I have never seen materials fall apart on a 15 year old car like that before.
Though I like the 328dxi M-Sport wagons. Perfect size. Just can’t do it.

Buick charging $35K for a TourX and not getting leather is ridiculous. Comparatively, the loaded TourX is a good value vs. an Audi Allroad but it's still $40K for something that might not be worth $25K in three years based upon how some American cars depreciate.
Might be worth leasing again for another two years and then picking up a used loaded one if the car gets good reviews and reliability marks.

I think I'm resigning myself to owning a SUV after all, at least for now, that could change next week. Been looking hard at the Q7, especially with the towing capacity it has along with the great reviews from every source I've checked. Was thinking about getting in to Vintage racing and would need something to pull a loaded trailer with a car (MG?) to the races. The Q7 would do it well. Everything I've read or heard about the Volvo wagon dissuades me from purchasing (loud, rough, nervous, bumpy ride, etc.)

Damn you and I think a lot alike. SQ5 and add a tune to that blower. Such a sleeper.
What about a Cayenne turbo Chief? There is a guy that lives around here with a Cayenne Turbo and he uses it to tow his gt3 rs with cup tires in it to the track.
