2012 remote starter installation
Hy all,
I am trying to install a Directed DS4+ remote starter on my 2012 TL TECh Package. my issue is ,the wire #16 and #17 on the power control unit blue connector are not the same color as described in Directed installation manual.
any ideas? is it the wrong connector i am playing with?

The instructions for the unit are for several different models, "Acura TL, TSX & ZDX -Honda Accord, Accord Crosstour, Civic, CR-V, Odyssey & Pilot", so I wouldn't expect every wire color to be the same as described.
I haven’t installed a remote start in my 4G yet, but I have in about 10 other cars and I’ve always found different color wire in the connector than shown in the instructions, and it never made a difference. When I was installing aftermarket amps in my 2012 TL with using the factory amp inputs/outputs, and there were several wires that weren't the same color as what was shown on the diagram. It’s all about the pin# though. The pins in the PCM/ECM usually don’t change, they should be the same in every gen/model car of the same year, with the exception of some pins can be empty for certain things not included in your vehicle.
Ive also seen wire changes mid-line, where the wire spool ran out and they soldered + sealed a new spool of wire in to finish that particular line. Sometimes it’d be a different color wire, so one end would be different than the other. Tell me that won’t piss you off when you’re trying to trace wires...

I still haven't been able to find a SM for the 2012 - 14/15 for free online, but I have found one for the 09-10 provided by another Acuraziner: https://acurazine.com/forums/fourth-...manual-899572/, which is what I used for the audio wiring diagrams.
I didn't see anything for the PCM wiring diagram in it, but it's possible I overlooked it. HTH

Thanks Mada51589 for your help. i did checked this manual and fund nothing about power control unit wire diagram. I called the the vendor where i bought the DS4 remote how been in business for a long time. He told me the same thing then you to go with the pin numbers not the color.
My TL is the 2012 SHAW TECH PACKAGE, i am wonder if they used a different power control unit in this G4 model than the 2009-2011 G3 model.
do anyone have a 2012 wiring diagram so i can trace some wire just to be sure.

I have the manuals for the 2012 including the Elec Troubleshooting Manual.
ETM: Starting Sys Page 21-42, Power Control Unit
Pin C16: B-Can H (Pink)
Pin C17: B-Can L (Blue)
They seem to be the same colors as the Pre-2012

Quick question for you guys with Aftermarket or OEM Remote starters do your parking lights and brakes lights flash and stay on while the car is remote started? I just had a installer put in a Viper 4115v one button remote start and my parking and brakes lights don’t flash at all to tell me if the car is on. Car starts up everytime just no lights unless I keep it on Auto headlights. I’m thinking this could be an install error.
