How do you get rid of dog fur?

You buy one without any. Our 01 has 189k and is still aging gracefully and going up for sale soon. This 2010 is a great replacement and is also made in Japan.

I want the old 4Runner... But I think it might be too far away from me.

Get rid of the source!

Buy a box of hospital disposable gloves (non powdered). Just put the glove on and wipe the fur off of the interior. The fur will stick to the glove. When your hand is full of fur just hold the fur in your hand and remove the glove by turning it inside out. The fur will be gift wrapped for disposal.

They're our kids so that can't happen. We have had it for 12 years and it was about time. I know someone will enjoy this rig. I have tried the latex glove trick and that seriously works well.

Congrats! The current gen 4Runner looks more rugged than ever. A guy at my job just got a lift kit and mud tires for his. Looks pretty good, actually. Oh, and...

The latex glove trick works so well. That is my go to method after a good vacuum job.

I have two German Shepherds and they shed like crazy. We have devoted a Chrysler Mini Van just to them to transporting them. Our vet suggested that we give our dogs Vitamin E which can be found at Walmart or some other box store very cheap. We started giving them the Vitamin E in their food for breakfast and dinner. Within about 2 or 3 days the shedding virtually stopped. Our vet said that the Vitamin E keeps their coat lubricated and prevents shedding. It does work.

The 3G T4R is one of my favorites, nearly bought one when I was in college.
My parents had 2 4Gs (V6 SR5 4WD & V8 Limited 4WD) Both great trucks.

Congrats on the new one, looks great.

Love the new one! That old one likely has a lot of miles left... but sometimes it's just nice to upgrade

Damn, I didn't realize that body style was that old! I would have mistaken that 4Runner for a brand new one if you hadn't said the year! Awesome pickup, now turn the old one into an overlanding rig.

srs?

brb, going to buy some Vitamin E. My golden sheds a full dog worth of fur every day.

For removing fur, a squeegee works really well too and can cover a huge area quickly if you get a big one. Downside is that it doesn't do non-flat surfaces at all.

on the Vitamin E, will have to give that a shot with our Catahoula. He dosen't shed a ton, but it is one of the reasons we don't take him in the car much, both have black interiors.

It has a ton of miles left. After 12 years it was time. Someone is going to f-in love this thing. We were looking at a sequoia but for what we wanted to pay, there weren't many good examples. To be fair, they didn't make too many and i think the ones that were available were way overpriced.

Since we have three dogs, we wanted to get something with more room and that would have fit the bill. But we went with another 4runner and we'll end up getting a pod for the top. Just like your fj, it's one of those things you really enjoy driving.

^ Just can't seem to want to get rid of the FJ. Enjoy the new one

And for those with 4-legged kiddos... we have this in the back of the FJ, Tundra, and E63...

So does the FJ, but it takes less than a minute to remove... so I just take it off, then fold the seats flat if needed

The old one is such a classic. It sways a lot more and you feel more bumps, but it's a joy to drive.

The cars (Toyota and Honda) from that era (mid 90s to early 2000s are basically bulletproof (except for Accord and most of the Acura)

Congrats man! A relative bought a 2013 4runner SR5 with this package that includes leather, sunroof, power heated seats, navi, and backup cam. If there is one thing to be said for 4runners, it's that they run damn near forever! I have very lightly on and off considered a 2004-2009 V8 Limited 4runner, but it doesn't have some features that I really want sadly.

Thanks. They do last forever. We put 2000 miles on our new one last week. It is so much more comfortable than the old one with all of the things you have listed. We really enjoy driving this thing. We averaged around 19-20 mpg at 75-85mpg on the trip.

I used the vinyl glove trick this weekend, except I used nitrile gloves. It worked pretty well for a quick cleaning job. Definitely not a single pass method though.

thanks.
Our shopvac works really well. It has a smaller hose opening so the suction seems to be more concentrated. It's better than the car wash vacuums.

We have a buyer lined up to hopefully pick it up this weekend. I told him that if it's not in as good condition as i say that he can smack me around. He was not disappointed.

I used my shopvac for most of it, then I used my dogs brush and brushed the rest of it! It is pain in the butt!

The 2001 has gone to her new owner. He was really excited to get the keys. The only thing we are planning to do with the 201 is a cargo carrier since we take the dogs places. We did pick up black all weather toyota mats.

Great vacuum at an awesome price. Works great on pet hair. A lot of 5 star reviews.

Perfect for car's interior or upholstery. Does an awesome job on pet hair.

Those things are crap. Have you ever used one? You need the suction force of a jet engine to keep those brushes going. I guess it may depend on the model too or i am putting all my weight on it to dig as deep as possible.
