New rotor issues

New rotor issues

Hey aziners!!!!
I replaced the front rotors and brake pads about 3 weeks ago with centric rotors and stop tech brake pads, everything went smooth and brakes work great but after two weeks the brakes started to get noisey and I thought maybe I didn’t use enough copper lube. So I went ahead yesterday and removed the pads inspected them and relubed them. I took the car for a ride and realized that the noise is coming from the passenger side. So I took a picture so u guys can tell me what it is.

first pic is drivers side which looks normal but the passenger side has marks on it which could be the reason for the noise.

You need to bed your rotors properly. That looks like glazing. Hopefully it's not a sign that your caliper is seizing up and dragging the pad.

Did you try bedding in the brakes?

looks like your pad did not makes full contact with rotor surface in the second pic.

It does look like some glazing to me too, you can see one worse off than yours below:



I stole the picture off the internet, but it gives you some kind of idea of what you're probably hearing. Bedding in the rotors/pads should get this off as long as there isn't an issue with the caliper. You can find the StopTech procedure here: Stock Brake System Bed-in

worked like a charm did the procedure 3 times and now the noise is completely gone!!!! Thanks a million!!!

Can you take a pic of what your rotors look like now? I am curious because I think I have glazing on mine and did a bed-in and I think I made it worse.

You have to sand off the glazing. Bedding in is a process you do on initial install
