I don't want to look like more of an asshole than I already am..
Nah, G55 = king As long as it's in silver.
But, also gets about 14mpg on the highway (according to the president of the company I used to work for that had one).
There's an '08 GL63 w/ 62k for 22k.. all receipts local to me. It's a bad mambo.
I'd really consider it, but need a 3rd row.
GL has 3rd row, congrats on your new V8 lifted minivan!!

W210s are nice, but in that era, maybe a C43
Doesn't the GL have 3rd row? Don't know as much on the MBZ SUVs :ashamed:
I want to go on more trips. Went to Colorado last year with the Cherokee and enjoyed the hell out of it. Would love to do more with something that had a lot more capability. The biggest reason I'll likely end up with the RS (and then buy a sh1tbox Jeep as a project) is that I can have fun with the Ford every day and not 3 times a year. And also I won't feel bad about scratching/denting up a cheap old Jeep like I would with a $45k Rubicon.
I really want a W220 S55 AMG.
Are those plagued with the stupid ABC system?

My grandmother's second W220 had 1 or 2 glitches (resolved with a power cycle) with the Airmatic, but they were both S430s not AMGs. Not sure what system the AMG uses.
Either way, the S/C S55
Personally, I didn't like her '01 W220, not a very intuitive car & really difficult infotatinment. Her 2nd, an '05 was much improved & had the adjustable Airmatic system. IMO, it was a more fun car to drive than her W221 S550. The W221 had more power, but felt heavier & less nimble.

That would be an increase to what I'm currently getting

I'd daily one for sure, even with the above petty dislike. That, or a Fusion Sport.
It's funny you mention the fusion sport. I've always categorized the fusion as a pedestrian model.
Yesterday, one came up on me with some extra juice. I was in the MDX, but it had some decent passing power.
Anyways, saw the back.. fusion sport.
Just checked it out after your post remembering the experience and it's not bad.
I mean.. it still looks like a reggo fusion, but with that EB.. it definitely has some juice.

i battled one two weekends ago!
pretty dense traffic, he was behind me. I was traveling 70mph in the far left lane behind some one else.
FordFusionSport, otherwise known as FFS for now on, tried to pass in the right. he chose the wrong lane as slower cars were there...he had to come back behind me. I see traffic open up ahead of me and signal to the right. I'm in third gear at 65-67mph...
with FFS lane now clear, he guns it.
he reaches my driver's side door and I get on it.
we're dead even. no one's edging the other out.
i stab the brakes heavily to signal end of race! and he continues weaving in and out of traffic.
but was super happy my car can keep up with EB's.
very similar experience with the explorer's and edges.

I love the low end on the 2.7EB in my truck, need to go give a FFS a test drive. Local dealer showed one in stock, but I couldn't find it on their lot while I was waiting on an oil change.

You get less than 14mpg? Da fuq are you driving?

FFS, the FFS doesn't actually feel that fast when you drive it. I saw it announced and immediately thought it would be an S4/340i competitor but it's not. It just feels like a marginally faster FF that still has pretty dull handling. It's not slow, but it's not really a good drivers car like a FiST, FoST, or RS.
