That definitely went right over my head. I took it too literal.

Dealer by my house shows 4 GT350s in stock, 3 with live photos. Checked the window stickers on them, all around $58k. 2 listed for sale at $88k & 1 at $68k. Crazy markups.

Crazy. Dealer not too far from me is selling the GT350 at MSRP. It's a crazy cool car, but I started to have a hard time justifying 75k (CAN) for a Mustang. They're selling them like hot cakes though. That one dealer has moved close to 50 of them.

i believe the GT350R is going for around 90k. They only had a few of those come through, but they were either pre sold, or sold within a day of landing at the dealer.

Mustang GT4

This is the Ford Mustang GT4 racecar | Top Gear

This is the Ford Mustang GT4 racecar

Going racing? You might want this mightily winged Mustang GT4

Plenty of manufacturers offer their own customer racecars for GT4 racing. Though, none of them have been a Mustang.

Until now. Ford has used SEMA to show off its new ‘global’ Mustang racer, significant as such dedicated motorsport models have previously been solely enjoyed by its native American audience.

It is based upon the Shelby GT350R-C, a car which already has American motorsport success on its CV. The Mustang GT4 can run in a number of competitions, including European GT4, the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and the Pirelli World Challenge.

You want specs? The GT4 runs a 5.2-litre V8 engine linked to a six-speed paddleshift gearbox, while Multimatic Motorsports – who helped the Ford GT racecar win so much this year – have fettled the chassis. Forgeline provide the 18in wheels, while you’ll no doubt have clocked the starkly appointed spoilers and splitters that give the GT4 the aerodynamic profile it needs to properly compete.

Wait a sec, am I bugging or is that rear tire thinner than a prius tire?? Looks like a 195 series width.

shadow plays tricks. the light part that you think is concrete is actually the tire.

2018 Mustang facelift announced. I'd advise getting a 15, 16, or 17 at this point...

Smaller lower grille, slightly smaller headlights, fogs are gone or replaced with LED. Doesn't seem a huge difference from the 15-17.

Just looks like they left the 2017 one out in the sun for too long and it melted a little.

Hopefully it's a pre-production that'll get a bit of tweaking before release.

The 2018 Ford Mustang Kills The V6 But Gets Magnetic Ride

The 2018 Ford Mustang Kills The V6 But Gets Magnetic Ride

Yes, the face of the 2018 Ford Mustang looks awfully sad. Is it sad because it no longer comes with a V6 engine option? Who can say. But there is good news: a new 10-speed automatic gearbox, new colors, and best of all, a magnetic ride suspension. We’ve heard rumblings that Ford would dump the V6 engine option—which only accounted for about 15 percent of sales—for 2018 to only offer the 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine, which had more power anyway, and the 5.0-liter V8. Now we know it’s the truth. Godspeed, V6 Mustang. I greet this news with a resounding “meh.”Now then, the improvements. 3 new colors, including “Orange Fury,” which you see in these photos, according to Automotive News. The face is different—it looks better than it did in yesterday’s leak, I’ll give it that—the hood is lower, and both engines can be had with Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission. The manual transmission has also been upgraded with a new twin-disc clutch and dual-mass flywheel.

More importantly the EcoBoost and GT Performance Packs get available MagneRide magnetorheological adaptive dampers, Road & Track reports. This adaptive suspension, once pretty much the purview of expensive supercars, puts the Mustang on par with the Chevrolet Camaro, which has packed it since 2015 (and earlier on the Camaro ZL1.) Previously that suspension was a feature on the more expensive Shelby GT350; now it’s much more democratized.

No word yet on official pricing—we will update this post if that changes—but these improvements could make this the best non-Shelby modern Mustang yet. If you can live with that face.

^ Looks a bit better from that angle.
Curious what the take rate on the V6 was, compared to the EB & Coyote. Looking at the 2017 specs, the V6 & EB weren't too far apart in HP, but the EB had a good bit more Tqe.

^in Houston, I haven't seen that many v6's. I sorta follow the Houston S550 mustang group as a co-worker has a GT but....most every one has an EB.
i did see a few V6's at the office, but I think they were rentals

^ I'd imagine the majority of V6s would be sold to rental companies.

Though I was shocked to get a Camaro rental once, was expecting a V6 & got an SS

Trashed tires & 23* took it back the next day. Didn't want to have to drive it 10 hours back to Houston if my flight ended up cancelled.
Had some fin with it, but not near as much as I would have in the summer.

Or like young professionals. A V8 is expensive to insure when you're like 25.

I also agree the older one was better. The new one looks like it has a forehead or something. not a fan.

^ Right, but then, just go for the EB instead, if the V8 is $$ to insure.
Assumption for me, is that the EB & Coyote sold many more over the V6.

That article said the take rate for the V6 was about 15%.

I'm not too sure how I feel on the new facelift. What about the rear changes? No one mentioned that. I don't like how the spoiler has a support in the middle, but I do like the quad exhaust and diffuser area. I know they changed the tailights to look more reminiscent of the LEDs in the headlights, but I'm not completely sold yet.

If the LEDs below the headlights are indeed amber colored, I don't like that at all. It takes away from the nice white LEDs in the headlights.

I don't mind the rear, but agree, don't care for the center pillars on the spoiler.

Thanks for the good comparos. I don't mind the new headlight design, but prefer the prior foglight area.

Not sure how I feel about the new "fin" in the foglight area.

Is that for brake cooling? As long as it's functional.

Shelby's 50th Anniversary Super Snake Mustang is here | Top Gear

Super Snake. It’s just a cool, cool name isn’t it? Shelby, long the purveyor of rather astonishing modified Ford Mustangs and, more generally, Cars With Excellent Names, has revealed a ‘50th Anniversary’ edition of its iconic Super Snake.

It celebrates 50 years since the ‘67 SS ‘Stang (duh), and was revealed over the weekend at the Barrett Jackson auction. According to Shelby president Gary Patterson, the new model is “extraordinarily fast and a thrill to drive”.

He’s certainly not wrong on the fast thing. The standard version which you don’t want pumps out 670bhp from that 5.0-litre V8 via means of a supercharger. The version you do want is the more powerful 750bhp V8, using either a Kenne Bell or Whipple supercharger, to allow a 0-60mph time of 3.5s and a quarter mile time of 10.9s. On street-legal Michelins. With an automatic gearbox. Sheesh.

Elsewhere you’ll find Ford/Shelby spec new dampers, sway bars, springs and bushings, Wilwood six-piston calipers with floating rotors (four-pot at the rear), a Shelby brake/bearing duct cooling system, and 20in forged aluminium wheels. And yes Mr Wayne, those wheels do come in black.

If it all sounds a bit familiar, it’s because we saw the first iteration of a modern Super Snake Mustang GT in 2015. For this anniversary edition, Shelby has fitted a new bonnet (with nostrils), new rockers, new spoilers, a new grille and fog lights, a new rear tail panel and refreshed diffuser assembly. Oh, and many stripes and Super Snake badging both inside and out.

You want options? You’ve got options. Many of them. There’s the 750bhp package that you definitely need, a more extreme cooling pack, Ford Performance half shafts and wheel studs, a short-throw gear shift, and track suspension/coilovers.

Only 500 50th Anniversary editions will be built, and each one will cost just $69,995, which includes the matter of the base Mustang GT. That is good value whichever way you cut it.

“In a world filled with sterile cars,” Patterson adds, “it’s a throwback to a time when people enjoyed driving.”

Interesting. I just received an EcoBoost Mustang from Enterprise-- automatic, but Recaro seats with heat and cooling?!
The TL is getting a rear bumper repaint courtesy of a insurance executive behind me at an In 'n Out drive-thru line.
The Mustang feels faster than the TL, but is noisier even though the Mustang has noise cancellation.
More fun than a Kia Optima or Chevy crossover, at least.
