I literally have that struggle every fucking day...
if I hit manual mode for downshifts but don't come to a stop, I HAVE to hit it...then I feel guilty...
I'm like, BAD man...you said good gas mileage this time.
Yesterday driving to work, patch of sprinkler runoff over the road...timed punching it right before it so rear wheels would let loose...fucking
Immediately I was like, SHAME!!!
Thanks Q! Hey, they asked...I said sure thing...I'd be honored to be part of the mod team! Appreciate the vote of confidence!

Can't do it!! Oem+ is the plan!
I am tempted somewhat, but I just love that I can get in the Accord and go anywhere without caring. Its a nice feeling not having to be worried about being too low, or having rubbing issues, or any of that kind of stuff. Someone actually wanted to trade my stock 17s for some 20's, but they were pretty ugly, and I think 20's might reduce my ride quality too far. The 19's still ride great though.
The other reason is because I kind of feel silly lowering just your everyday Honda Accord.

I believe all 2016-2017 Accord tail lights are the same, but they are updated from the 2013-2015 tails. I really love the LED tubes in them, very BMW-esque. They are also smoked a little bit, which makes them a nicer red than the 2013-2015 IMO.
The drop on that Touring looks about perfect, I'd consider Basis, but I want to maintain the ride quality. Don't get me wrong, its your grandpa's lexus, but its pretty damn smooth. I'm spoiled, now whenever I get in older cars I can feel a huge difference. I woudn't want to lose that "brand new car" ride quality.
If I do lower it, it'll be in the spring so I guess I got plenty of time to think about it.

I've heard from my buddy with an accord that the cheapest basis ones, offer a very supple and smooth ride. I can't see not getting full adjustability and shock/spring for only 250 more than springs.
BUT, that said...the H&R get the job done too...I did find that after 20 or 30K on my wife's old 8th Gen accord...it eventually did feel a tad harsh.

Tails are the same on al 2016 Accords. A lot of people have switched over to the "Lexus" tails which I don't like.
Also, tein basis are exactly what J said. You will not loose the comfort.... plus you have the height adjustment. The basis are on my Christmas list.
H&R are like 250ish, for 250 more you get full coils... (tein basis z) a guy is currently selling some tein advances for 400.

LOL! I almost forgot I posted so many pics of it on FB.
Backstory
SO I always have kept an eye on the E30 market since I had one a few years back and always loved them. I came across a few recently and even went to look at them but had to pass until I saw this one. Originally i was looking for a coupe like most E30 enthusiasts, but this was very well maintained, and since i have an Accord as my DD, i figured my toy could be that much less practical.
It was listed for sale locally, and when I went to see it I knew i had to have it. Its a 2 owner car, and the guy I bought it from was a wealthy chiropractor (he had some ravens player with a lifted Silverado at his office when I went to see it) and barely drove it 40k miles in the 20 years he owned it. It even came with the battery tender that it probably stayed hooked up to most of the time.
It was garage kept, with a new top, timing belt, and a bunch of other paperwork. He even kept a notebook of every gas fill up. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Automatic top works, AC works, upgraded MB Quartz audio with a JL sub in the trunk. No rust, great paint, decent leather (better than some 3G TLs ) AND its a late model 92 with plastic bumpers. The E30 body style ended in 1991, but BMW held over the convertibles til 1992. SO I basically got the absolute newest E30 BMW.... My ONLY issue with it is that its missing one pedal. More to come on the MT swap

YES! I do agree about the wheels for sure.
The PO said that he got rid of the original 14" wheels that came with it cause he couldn't find a quality tire in a 14" so he bought these wheels and tires of Tirerack and had them shipped and threw them on.
Most likely I'll lower the car on springs and new bilstein shocks/struts at some point and hopefully get a set of these 17" Alpina reps. I think they're dope!

Haha, the basket weaves are nice, and I've had my eyes peeled for a set. If I could find them in 15" I'd be happy to have them as my stockies since the tires would just be swapped over Unfortunately most basket weaves and bottle caps are 14"
Picking up a set of 18" wheels for the accord today though. The car will have 3 sets now, probably time to get rid of one at least. Tax season is in effect already lol. Lots of steals to be had!!

Not a very good update to report on the Accord.
As some of you may know, I was involved in an accident last week which put the accord out of commission for a while. Thankfully I am fine, no cuts or bruises or anything but the car got hit pretty bad. I wanted them to total it but so far the damage is at $6k which I think is conservative.
I'd be a whole lot more pissed about this if I didn't have other projects to keep me busy, but it is what it is. Currently its at one of the best shops in the area waiting for the adjuster to come take a second look at it for the supplement. I am planning to request only NEW OEM parts go on the car and will be putting in a claim for diminished value. The car has under 7k miles and hasn't even had its first oil change. (I was waiting for the MID to reach 20%)

I would be Sooo pissed off if this happened to me in my new car. Did you have to go to the doctor? If not, you should just to make sure there are no injuries. I just went through this when I was driving my girls car and we were rear ended. The insurance company repaired her car and we got a really nice settlement for our injuries. Good luck with the repair, and I hope the insurance company totals the car.

Sorry to hear that man but I'm glad you're ok.
Did the air bags deploy? If so, you might have a chance but it doesn't look like there's any obvious frame or suspension damage as that's what will typically total a car.

His insurance will be covering everything, he got a ticket and they've already accepted responsibility. A random witness pulled over and spoke with the cops. I wasn't injured or hurt and had my seat belt on, so I'm just wanting to get whats owed to me, nothing additional.
I've got my eyes peeled for a set of wheels for the E30, but am working on this manual swap first. I picked up a parts car (90 sedan) that was wrecked in the front, so I'll be parting it out and having someone do the manual swap to convert the Convertible (lol) to a manual transmission. After that, many mods will come. So far though, i just ordered replacement headlights and Euro grilles from USR.

No real update on the Accord. Still in the shop. Adjuster put an aftermarket fender on the supplement....was not happy about that so I spoke with his supervisor and got a new OEM approved. other than that, its in the shop. I might go visit tomorrow.
In other news, E30 work has started. The black one is still sitting, but I picked up a parts car over the weekend to use for the 5 speed swap. I haven't pulled what I need out of it but was happy to find some free bonuses in the car. I already sold the tails and a few other things. E30 guys are awesome, the R3vlimited forum is almost as dope as Azine.

Thanks gentlemen!
I'm in process of parting it out to get some money back. I paid Under a grand for the parts car, didn't realize how good of a deal I got til afterwards. Most people part the manual swap for 6-800$, so I'm hoping i will be left with that for free after I part out the rest of the car. Already sold the tails, optima red top that came in it, wheels, and a few other little things.
Most people on the forums agree it's harder to find a clean E30 than a manual one, so the manual swap was the way to go. After some research, it's pretty simple compared to other cars. Since the E30 is so old, there isn't much wiring, harnesses or computers to swap. It's all mechanical parts, like the transmission and driveshaft that need swapping out. Shouldn't be too bad, I'm planning on taking the parts from the donor out and then paying a local shop to do the swap. They've done it for several r3v forum members. .

Thanks!
Yeah, the Accord is still in the shop until next week, so I've been making progress on the parts car. Engine is out, seats, carpet, most of the interior is gone. I've gathered most of my parts for the swap and pulled the transmission, driveshaft, etc etc. I also sold the wheels off of it (they looked good but were Borbet replicas that just werent my style). Threw on some cheap bottle caps i got from CL for a bit until my new 215/40/17 Nitto Neogen's came in today. Had those mounted on a set of 17" BBS wheels I got in a trade. The wheel whoring is ridiculous. I have three sets of wheels for the Accord and 4 for the Bimmers.
I went ahead and ordered all the new parts for the swap as well, trans mounts, clutch, redline fluids, seals, clutch lines, slave and master cylinders, etc etc.
Hoping to get the car swapped next week!
Here are some random pics I snapped. The parts car is almost fully parted. In the end my transmission and manual swap parts cost me nothing, and made some additional $ to pour into the Cabrio. It was a great deal for me!
New wheels mounted today!
