LED Strip Daytime Running Lights

Has anyone added the LED strips under their headlights or by the fog lights? I know one person did by the fogs but would like something new! Please post pics!

I've done it on my 3G Type S. I don't know if there is a 4G with it done.

I was thinking since the 13' accord coupe led headlights are so cheap and have a nice led strip and led projectors it would be an interesting project to make a hybrid TL/accord headlight.

Im not really sure of the size difference between the two but they also look like they have a similay shape.

Tacky IMHO. Will this make the car faster? Does this illuminate the road better?

The store bought stuff usually looks terrible but I could see an oem retrofit like the poster above mentioned looking good. I would just turn on your HID's all the time, who needs DRL's when you have HID's anyway.

^^^ that looks sick!

The only issue, other than if it doesn't fit the TL housing for the headlight, would be wiring up the LED lights (which I believe the Accord now has). The LED strip is one thing but then I think they also use a separate set of LEDs for the DRLs...someone that knows more about this please correct me if I'm wrong but I think the wiring may be an issue

I wired my halos into the starter so whenever the car is on they are on. I would do it the same way with the LEDs as well.

Any time you start fucking around with the wiring in your car and you don't have a good working knowledge of automotive electrical systems -AND- you make connections with a crimp connector and black electrical tape...

Anyone remember the guy from 3G section who wanted HiD fog-lights and ended up buying a new bumper?? I think he was also from NJ.

I love the LED strips by the fog lights but they are impossible to buy! Does anyone know the measurements for the strips by the headlights or near fog lights?

Chase, I bought two of the flexible strip LEDS. Each were 2 feet long. They were too long for the headlight, but you can cut them every third LED light, which is what we did.

For the 3G, we wired the lights by drilling a very small hole in the bottom of the headlight and running wire to the windshield wiper green wire, which is always hot.

These LED's are always on, whether I have on the DRL's or the headlights, which is what I wanted them to do.

I hope that helps.

KB1Spec,

Could you give us more details to your setup? Those LED's are exactly what I want setup and the install looks very clean. Any link to the product?

There is a company in Germany call Nolden
http://www.noldengmbh.de/en/

The kit comes with a Module where the LED are at full brightness when your parking light or headlamp is off. When you turn on the headlamp or parking light, the LED will dim. You can also have it full bright if you disconnect one of the wire on the module. So either day or night time the LED will be in full brightness.

There used to be a company call www.tmtuning.com sells the kit which I got from them but they went out of business. I got the kit at the price of $300. You might find it cheaper on ebay or ebay.de.

Just search for Nolden Slimline LED

Have fun!

I have to disagree. What kb did is more oem when considering manufacturers like MB. However, look at Audi / Lexus / Kia and led's come in the headlights from the factory.

I feel that Steven's setup looks more oem than kb's. Now that's not to say that all aftermarket led's in or around the headlights look stock. I've seen plenty of butchered jobs that do scream rice. I'm sure the same can be said for led strips in the bumper.

The problem I have with kb's is that they don't match the drl's or hid's. This is the exact reason I upgraded my fogs to hid's, so they'd match the headlights better. I'm not a fan of the multi-color look. No disrespect meant kb!

I had this project in mind for a long time and finally got to time to finish it. I installed flexible led strips from oznium inside my headlights and wire them to work as DRL, at the same time I swapped the oem lenses to the tsx-r clear ones and put on Osram Xenarc 66240CBI HID bulbs. I also bought a pair or turn signal assemblies, opened them up and installed Morimoto SXB switchback led strips.
This is how my set up looks at night. Sorry for the iPhone pic.

It would be nice to see an aftermarket headlight assembly like LostProphet has above with the LED's built in. Every option that I've seen so far for the 4G TL's has been really expensive. The lights in the configuration above just seem to make the car look a lot newer IMO. I really like the color of the strips that Steven put in as well
