Now Available! RV6 PCD/Downpipe Kit for 16+ ILX I4 (2.4L)
Introducing the RV6™ PCD™/Downpipe for the 1.5 generation ILX. The ILX uses a very similar engine to the 9G Accord equipped with a K24W engine. We expect similar gains or slightly higher gains on the ILX due to the higher compression. We are looking for a car in the Chicagoland area to test on our dyno. Please contact us if interested.
RV6™ has been manufacturing PCDs™ for the V6 Hondas for over 7 years now. Over that time, we have obtained much experience on how to make PCDs™ last. PCDs™ are subjected to high temperatures and constant stresses from the twisting of the engine which are unlike conventional headers that distribute the stresses between several runners all of the stresses are concentrated on one area.
Estimated Gain:
~10WHP
~11WTQ
Specs:
- 304 Stainless cast flange sections
- 304 Stainless 2.5” tubing
- TIG welded
- Argon purged welds for strength
Includes:
All necessary hardware for installation

However to answer your question:
In my application It definitely has changed the sound for my car, I can't imagine it would not do a similar difference to yours (even if the piping is different). The tone is deeper and throaty, so much so that I did not want to change the exhaust further inclusive of the muffler. I have read that the gains for changing the muffler are negligible in the 2013-2015 version.
Now don't get me wrong I do like the change of the tone of the vehicle however I don't want it much more, and at times I wish it was a little quieter (mainly when I give rides to others that might be more sensitive ie older passengers). The RBC Intake Manifold and a CAI make the vehicle growl in high revs (which is awesome!), especially in Vtec. Generally it appears that the intake tends to make the vehicle sound louder on higher revs, while exhaust makes the vehicle louder on the lower revs. Everyone is different some like it some don't, but expect a change in the sound of your car if you install any exhaust parts.

I'm looking for a High Rev Intake Growl and Slight "mid tone" down pipe.
I absolutely do NOT want a loud "drowning" muffler sound.
From what it sounds like, an AEM Intake and RV6 Down-Pipe are gonna give me exactly what I'm looking for.
Only problem now, is figuring out how I'm going to get an AEM intake shipped to me in California.
Chriff, any chance you can post a YouTube video or something? I'd really love to hear what your car sounds like. Thanks for your help.

If you don't touch the muffler, you are less likely to have the loud drowning muffler sound. I liked the sound of my stock 2008 exhaust, that sounded nice. I looks like the RV6 has only the cat delete version so I would imagine the sound (also the smell) will be different. I am not sure if that would be legal in California?
My ILX will definitely sound different from your possible set up as I have the RBC manifold and the high flow catted RV6 downpipe. However if you are still that interested I can look at doing a little sound video, but I will be away from town (and my ILX for a couple weeks), when I get back I can see about doing a video - I have never uploaded anything to youtube as of yet.

Anyone found a tune for the 2016+ILX I have reached out to a few different places but only Ktuner has said they will make a tune for the car but can't get a tester. (I don't live any where near them or I would)
Anyone know of any other tuner or tune for the 16+ILX

You should call them back and tell them to stop being greedy bastards and give the tune to the tested ILX like every other company that tests a part and has someone bring in their own car on their own time.
Ktuner isnt having any luck with a tester because they want to charge for the unit before anyone knows how much power you'll see. Not gonna happen Ktuner, sorry.

Oh I didn’t know that. That’s not a very good thing to do. So you have to buy the unit before they will test it : /

abccookies,
Im currently testing for ktuner as we speak. I have no custom maps but they sent me a v1 unit to flash with and I sent back some data logs so far. Should be doing some testing on changes this week. I do not have RV6 PCD but have a K&N SRI. Would eventually like to get the downpipe to get some real numbers down but RV6 has not responded to my email informing them of my testing with ktuner and do not seem to be interested in providing me any equipment to test (Which is fine) I am not a cheapo and will purchase in the future but am low on funds and saving for the dyno runs coming up.

Lets hope for some good results and that KTuner can pull through. Cant wait for a tune.
The differences of a tune for the PCD would be pretty big. From what we saw in the Accord/TLX crowd. the PCD offered bigger power gains then intake kits did for the engine.

I am new to the forums but hoping to get some stuff documented and install pictures and such for a few parts for the '16. I will try to take comparison videos and all but so far im still on a stock tune. Hopefully should have something more interesting by the end of the week or upcoming weekend.

Thmanx,
Sorry for the late response, I actually had the car dropped on the eibach pro kit and have been taking a little break with the car stuff due to busy work schedule.
As for updates I wont get super in depth here yet, as I bit the bullet and bought the RV6 PCD and have yet to receive it in the mail and install. I will then work with Ktuner to get another test map to work with that part change. As for right now I have gotten 2 test maps. First one seemed just a little edgier/peppier. Second tune had some adjustment to CAM profile I think because it had a lot more torque and stayed really peppy through the gears. Definitely a pretty decent improvement so far, shifts feels really nice and idle got adjusted a bit so it has been purring. Engine sound has a little more mid tone in it and the gas mileage (yes I know, im not concerned with it, just reporting) seems to be somewhat similar in efficiency, and more improved throttle response in freeway gears (6/7/8), which in turn make it feel easier to drive for economy or passing on the freeway. I drive a big commute everyday so this is why I have input on highway performance. However on the street in Sport Manual. Its pretty peppy and picks up the gears fast. Havent done much testing in D mode but all in good time.
Sincerely,
Patrick

Thanks for the update, all us 1.5 gen ILX owners are hungry for a good ECU tune option mainly because it unlocks all kinds of potential down the road for some real power mods (boost, internals, etc)
Sounds great that the KTuner is working with the 8Speed DCT, it'll be a night and day difference once you get that RV6 PCD installed.

installed mine a couple weeks ago. Can’t say how much of a performance difference but the exhaust is slightly more aggressive and the CAI has increased a decent amount in terms of sound. Just added a Flowmaster muffler to add a bit more aggression to the exhaust.

It looks like you can get the Ktuner base map along with the downpipe, or seperatley.

Being 10~16 weeks out means they probably don't have it in stock and need to order it from RV6

Yep they said the same to me too but I'm not sure if trust it or not because I emailed rv6 and they said it's discontinued and won't make one for any special exemption so it seemed a bit fishy to me
