With so much camo - who knows it is even an Acura?

At the 12 second Mark you can see the Acura logo on the grille.

Agreed...it looks quite boxy in the back for an Acura RDX....that would be one heck of a re-design, and Acura strikes me as more conservative than that. JMHO.

I am confused though. Don't all cars in camo look super boxy like that when covered in camo?

They do that to fully hide all body contours and creases and tail light designs...etc

We get a lot of these test vehicles through Arizona, many with the camo look. Up close, when I've been fueling my Harley next to many of them, you can see the general shape; however, there is generally some conformation. When speaking with those who drive them, they will tell you that the camo hides the little details. Just seems that the boxy back is out of place, comparing the test vehicles that I've seen over the last decade.

You could, however, be right, and I was given a line by the drivers....they won't tell you the manufacturer or model; however, have been known to smile and nod if you guess right....

You always see these spy photos coming out of Arizona, interesting that they choose Arizona and must be so cool to see them. Also interesting that you have so much experience with them.

I have never seen any in person, but from the ones I have seen online, the heavily revised ones are usually covered in flat camo like that. I could be wrong as well, this is the first model with the full new Acura design language (assuming the tlx doesn't come first) could be a radical new direction.

Yeah, it could be a Benz logo too, it's kind of hard to tell, but I'd say it's either a Mercedes or Acura.

The grill seems to be align somewhat more with the Acura though? Again, it's hard to tell. The Mercedes Grills have a strip coming out of each side of the emblem which this tester does not have. So it would have be a Mercedes first.

The other hint seems to be the bottom of the steering wheel seen at 24 seconds. Does this look more like an Acura wheel or a Mercedes Wheel?

No matter is its an Acura or not, you can tell nothing about what it will look like other than it is generally an SUV....

I look more like the next gen MDX (or another full size SUV) than the smaller RDX because of the size?

Hey Justnspace, I bet it is the all new CDX that is coming to North America!

And they borrowed the rear hump from the current CRV (as it has lost the hump in it's new avatar) .

I am not a fan of the big badges

Its like the car manufacturers want you to become an advertisement

I will wait and see if there is a new rdx before getting one

I don't know what car that is, but the license plate is not the standard plate you see on Honda/Acura test mules. So I don't think it is a Honda product.

It looks longer than a regular RDX. I doubt they will make RDX longer to kill the MDX sales. The headlight looks like the jewel eyes headlights though

It is difficult to tell without anything next to it to give a scale as well as the camo can make it look much larger than it is because of the flat slab sides. In my eye it looks too small to be an mdx and the next gen rdx is due sooner than the mdx so IMHO it is an rdx (assuming it is even an Acura at all).

What is the chance of Acura surprising us all with a new crossover to slot between the mdx and rdx? IMHO the current rdx is a bit too big for the compact class (not looking at stats, just feels larger), so could Acura make it smaller and introduce something in the middle with SH-AWD again?

Really, then Acura should keep the RDX as is, give it SH-AWD, and bring in something like the CDX for the entry level. The design is already there and implemented. They would have to spruce that thing up though, in order to put an Acura badge on it and sell it here.

if I'm not mistaken though, Acura has no intentions in bringing the CDX over.

somewhere between rdx and mdx? i doubt it.. an even smaller one makes more sense like a Honda HRV size. The MDX is not that much bigger than the RDX so i can hardly imagine one between them.

The badge has to change for sure for the next redesign. Other than that, Acura can follow and add what others have added to the line up. RDX is a very nice car I say. Hopefully they don't screw it up.
