Funky gold sour isn't even one of their best, but it's good! Ah I wish their noir and barrel line were more available. I have the Ace in the fridge cooling for tonight. I'm going to drink both the kollab.and ace.. Mmmmm drinky mcdrinkface.
Bunneh..
Hope your mom is doing well! Not in a, say hi to your mom for me type way, but a genuine hope all of you are doing well, especially mom. #timbitties

Maj had it right when he mentioned something about him being Jiffy Lube (or was it Grease Monkey...) in the '80s. I thought something similar in his first posts... He's just an older guy set in his ways that he learned umpteen years ago when engines weren't as precise and there was much more room for improvement. The type that the Jitterbug phone and AOL are marketed to. The type that "don't want to learn that new shit because my way has been working fine for the past 50 years".
I wanted to be an ass to him, but I saw a little bit of my grandparents in his personality and dialed it back. I mean, it's not really their fault that they're obstinate; it's more of a defense mechanism because they're afraid reluctant to learn anything new. While the dumpster fire got out of control in that thread, I think the point got across to anyone who would stumble by in the future: here's a guys opinion and a bunch of other opinions that seem to counter it. Any olde-tymers that come by will look down their trifocals, shake their fists, and say "emry was right, you dumb kids" and the kids will look and be like, "lulz, pops WTF? snapchat instergram YOLO" and they'll each be able to form their own opinions.
yeah, but he started throwing around insults and questioning integrity.
Can't be lumping people all together into a group and throwing labels, right? I mean, I know HIS generation did that but still, it's 2016
One thing that really gets my jimmies in a rustle is when people start bandying about derogatory terms in a non-ironic and caustic manner.
I'm sure he's going to start blubbering about how everyone is picking on him now and , but the fact is, when one nail stick up higher than the others on your deck, there's really only one thing to do. And that's to pound it back into it's place.
Just poooound away on it. Bash the fuck out of it with a hammer until it repents and stops causing trouble and pissing me off when I stub my toe on it every. damned. time.
Hope you guys are having a good weekend, nice and cool here today.
Yeah, We've had the windows open in the house since yesterday. There's actually cool breezes blowing through and it doesn't smell like petroleum byproducts.
Well, it probably does but I've probably become desensitized. But it's dry and cool. Went out and rode around the park for a few hours before lunch and will probably go again after dinner. Plus there's an airshow in town this weekend so we get some planes flying around from time to time. Blue Angles are here!
Went to a dinner at my friend's place...the one with the husband who's a senior purchaser for carmax...
I get there...bam, his take home car was CTSV coupe Was fun to talk cars with him. No recaro either, was curious to sit in a set...
also, had some hideous wheels on it...and it had those Sumitomo I have on the S2000 I was talking about yesterday. Should have asked him how they hook up.
He said in the rain the other day it went sideways on him and scared the piss out of him.
1 how did you remember you posted that...
2 how did you fucking find it...
Naw...it's too far fetched...even if I tried to trade in at 45K on mine and pay the additional 10K for that wagon, I'd be settling for silver...and I'd have to get rid of the S2000 and then, why go through all that trouble for the same vehicle?
I already made that mistake once. Be happy with what you got...when it's time to try something new, try something new.
Funny you mention it though, I originally had a "I'm too lazy to find it" intro to that post, but then I went and looked. Don't know why, but I remember posting it; probably because you go through cars in pairs so it only seemed logical to call it early. Ironically (or not) enough, from the number of "thanks" that post got, I'm not alone in the sentiment.
I remember it was either at the tail end of one of the TL threads, or at the beginning of your Vagon thread. Or in NeuroBob's thread... I got lucky and found it!
Bro, 5 more months and that 6MT OBM will pop up for like $3k more than you're into yours for. You wait and see.
I bet she is. She looks all smiley. I love my nephew and nieces to no end. When children are well behaved, man is it nice.

wall o' text about my personal life:
Spoiler
My mom is doing well. She has moved in an apartment, got rid of her house she couldn't afford, she's slowly getting back on track as far as paying her debt goes. Two winters ago I bought her that Saturn SL2 2001 beater when her TB tensioner snapped on her Aveo (shit design powered by GM) and it wasn't worth putting money on swapping a new engine in cause they're shit anyway. Found her 4 seasons tires for summer, replaced the water pump cause it was leaking and 2 months or so ago replaced the starter (in a terrible location, more shit design by GM). It's a shit car with like 250k on the odo aka 155k miles but it gets her to her job which is 10 minutes away. All in all, getting better.
My sister had a third kid (a boy this time around), who's smiley 24/7 and my nieces are growing up so fast it doesn't make me feel any younger. They celebrated their third birthday this summer so they're finally getting to a stage where you can have "conversations" with them and where their answers are always funny/creepy.
My sister asked them what sort of cake I should have for my birthday, one of them said "Spiderman" because everybody knows guys love Spiderman.
But they said the same thing for their dad when asked earlier that week, so my sister said "isn't that the cake for dad?"
Niece: "I saw two at the store."
No BS attitude, 10/10 problem solving.
My brother and his girlfriend are awaiting a baby too, so there will be more uncle duties in not too long. He went through like 8 billion cars in the last 2 years, lately a beatup Cavalier and a Pontiac Fiero which he sold recently to get a Golf 2.5. His choices are terrible. He should have kept his Volvo 2.5, sure it was boring but it was so clean.
As for me, I moved in with my girlfriend at the start of July and changed fields completely when it comes to work. I'm now doing security, started by doing a lot of events but now settling down for the winter. Currently working the graveyard shift in a hospital, and apart for the meh schedule I couldn't be happier with my life changes. The pressure and stress of that shit business I was working at for the past 6 years was eating at me and I never realized how terrible it was for my health until I quit it. Changing jobs in such a manner is stressful, you don't know if you'll be successful and yadda yadda but it's nothing compared to dealing with a job you genuinely hate.
The security field is well regulated here in Quebec since ~2008 with minimum salaries that are attractive and bonuses on top of bonuses depending on your work site/hours/knowledge etc etc. Not minimum wage mall cop sort of bullshit, luckily lol.
Employers in the security field love me too, I get recommendations left and right, to the point where I get offers for jobs at the airport and federal institutions on a monthly basis even though I've been around for less than a year. Who knows, I might end up going back to school and becoming a copper or something like that. Maybe I'll end up frisking you guys like only the Canadian version of a TSA agent can if you guys fly to Canada...
PB, I was in somewhat the same position with my job, as you, about 5 years ago.
It was a 4.5 year long construction project that I was on since the start... 3.5 years into it and I wanted to blow my brains out. Working with the same shitty team, and dealing with the same shitty day to day work issues. Everyday at lunch, it was a 1 hour bitchfest about how we all hated our fucking jobs and the people we worked with. There were some seriously stubborn dumb fucks.
Well, the company stretched itself too thin... They had a bunch of mega projects coming to an end and they weren't winning new bids. Those mega jobs started ending and they had nowhere to put people, so the layoffs began. I ended up getting my walking papers.
I remember being devastated. Calling wifey, being like "hey... I lost my job today". She thought I was joking. As much as I didn't like that job (or many of us, for that matter), it paid decently and offered the "golden handcuffs". Buying shares in the company, that on a very bad year, still made 25% ROI. The best year was a 76% ROI that's why people wouldn't leave- after a few years you were making more money than starting new somewhere else.
well, being laid off was a blessing in disguise. I look back at that company and you couldn't pay me enough to go back. Fuck that place, fuck the long hours, fuck the shitty people, fuck the shitty problems, fuck everything. I did a bit of career hopping after that, to make sure I found something that made me happy. Even so, I was so happy to be out of that shit show.
Fuckjoe, Joe, or Spaceman- how's Texas for Hellcats? Are they a dime a dozen down there too? I'm starting to think Alberta is Hellcat Nation. I see these things everywhere!
I still can't believe what Dodge did with the Charger. When it was reborn in the early 2000s, I hated every aspect of the car. It was fucking bland. Now... one of the sexiest sedans out there.
