3G headlight question

Hate to post a new thread with this question and I'm sure if I dig the answer is here somewhere, but I need a quick answer.

With the 3G headlights, is the plastic outter lens (the plastic housing on the exterior) the same for base TL models 2004 - 2008 that is is for 2008 3G Type S ? I know the insides vary throughout the years with the addition of fogs and then DRL's. Only concerned with the exterior plastic shell (or outter lens)

Thanks in advance!

^you cant just buy the plastic outer shell.......
so whatever you're doing, you're going to have to rethink it...

why not just explain your problem???

i wish there was a way to get a manufacturer to sell just the outer lens... $500 for aftermarket headlights is asinine. the projector is probably crap compared to OEM too

I'm high jacking this thread a little bit, sorry :-)

My headlight was hit on parking lot, so I was looking to buy new one. Amazon had one for $500, Acuraoemparts for $450 (right one). Three days ago I found one "oem" at Amazon for $100 and bought it right in this moment.(it was from Amazon, from their warehouse with prime shipping 3 days, came in box saying Honda OEM parts ). Now they are back for $500.

No idea if I was lucky. It looks good and OEM. I can't find "Made in..." on it, but I didn't replace old one yet so I can't compare.

Try looking there, maybe it will be back.

And the question is : is this headlight OEM?

That headlight looks as OEM as OEM gets.

I ran into a similar situation and that's why I opened up this thread. Mine however was self inflicted. I cracked my 2004 headlights open back in 2005 to remove the amber and it came out great. Flash to 2 weeks ago. Not as much free time as I used to have so finally got around to cracking the Type S headlights (do LED switchbacks, LED DRL's, clear lens, HID fogs the whole deal). Anyway, opened them up but I had an issue with cleaning/sanding the outer plastic lens and one of therm fogged up almost beyond repair.

I found a headlight online for $125.00 and wanted to jump on it but was only 99.9% certain the lens between the base TL and the Type S was the same, hens the reason for this thread/question. Truonghthe answered the question and I placed the order. No offense but didn't have time for justnspace answer to my question with a question. The only thing I needed to rethink is why I even read his response Just needed to get the answer on the lens and place the order. Glad your looks as good as it does. Mine hasn't arrived I expect it to deliver today. I'm hoping it looks like yours. Again all I need is the outer lens but may use the projector too as the clip from one of my projectors is loose.
