Why is there a Mustang logo on the airbag?

Always gets awesome reviews for driving but not the greatest for reliability. Tesla has started a CPO program, might want to look into that especially if her drive is so short (Tesla S has a range of 200+ miles...) and she has charging stations.

i think the only problem with buying used is that you can't get the tax credit... so the price of the vehicle would have to be discounted enough to offset missing out on that deal...

my other gripe is that i can't work on it myself... maintenance should be limited since there is no oil to change... but in 4 yrs when i send the car to Tesla for battery coolant change, that is like $900?

Look on their website. Sometimes they have show/demo cars that have never been registered so they can technically be sold as "new" but at a used cost because they have miles. Best of both worlds.

I'd imagine the resale value of an EV is abysmal so you'd likely reap larger benefits than the tax credit over buying new.

Also, just to note, the tax credit is a credit meaning that if your liabilities at the end of your return are only $2k, you only get $2k of the $7500 max.

Alternative to the Tesla, though not as attractive nor Ludicrous , would be the 2G Volt
You'll still get the long range with such a short drive, at low speeds I imagine it could mostly be driven in electric mode, & it's massively better looking than a Prius.

Tesla Model S is a lot of money for a car. It's a lot more expensive than a number of Lexus models, but they are just not as nice, IMHO.

I think the wheels themselves are good looking. Just about 5 inches too big.

Yah i know, that is what she said.

Even if they were smaller, I think they are wrong for a CUV/SUV. It's the bolts around the edge that is making it look off, IMO.

Even on those mega-sized heavy wheels...that SUV would still blow your slow 3er outta the water in a race. Even if they gave you a 34.50 minute head start.

Whoa! I would not have predicted this outcome of a runway drag race between an M2 and a new Ford Mustang GT. It's not even close.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/watch-bmw...153150905.html

ETA: I realize the fact that the M2 has the DCT and the Mustang has a manual transmission accounts for some of the difference, but I can't imagine it accounts for all of it. There are some kind of magic beans under the hood of that M2.

During the last epi of TG, even they said the GT does not feel it has 400+ HP

The article said it is due to traction but it is obvious that M2 is pulling away from the GT the entire race.

But I would expect the result to be a lot closer in the real world, since it takes about a good 5-7 secs to engage the launch control feature. I have the LC in my 4s and only used about 2-3 times.
You will have to press a lot of shit and wait for about another 2-3 secs on brake and gas before the "checker flag" LC is activated, by that time, the GT would be far gone.

Vid for reference:

I wonder if the shifting in the manual is leaving any time on the table - good watch though.

^ i am sure some of the time is due to the shifting. No human can shift as fast as DCT even with the daily "practice(s)" in front of monitor.

people should buy manual because of its fun factor. DCT will always be consistently faster than manual in a straight line with the same car.

This. Also, in the M2 everything is controlled by a computer that talks to all the other computers such that everything from engine torque, wheel spin, gear changes, RPMs, suspension settings, etc are all computer controlled to work together and there's no way a human can do anything like that.

Also there's the whole bit about weighing considerably less and producing peak torque pretty much right off idle while the Mustang has to get up pretty high to get it.

It probably wouldn't change the outcome of the race but I feel like the driver count shift a littlequicker. I bang gears harder in the Accord.
