Value of 2007 Acura TL Tech/Navi in Very Good Condition
What is value of 2007 Acura TL Tech/Navi in very good condition at 110k miles with all service up to date? What is the best way to get what it is worth? I hate being fleeced by dealers - annoying as heck. How do you effectively negotiate a trade in to get something close to what it is worth? I understand dealer trade in is much less than retail and somewhat less than private parties, but some dealers are just ridiculously insultingly low ball. For a car like this in very good well maintained condition, is private party the only reasonable option, or can some dealers be worked where the fleecing is much more reasonable and not a joke? Thanks a bunch!

Why trade it in to a dealer? They will only negotiate in their favor and you have a 9 year old car that's not rare or otherwise special. Craigslist is free. Give that a try first. Kelly Blue Book online will give you a suggested selling price. Good luck.

Trade value can be negotiated, but you will receive far less than if you sell private. With a trade though you won't have to deal with tirekickers and waiting for a buyer to get your cash, so trade is more convenient. If your still making payments on the car, be ready to pay a couple months after you buy a new car, so don't forget you'll be forking out 2 car payment, again trading is helps with this. If you don't have payments, then go private sell. Heck you can even pay to have a dealer sell your car for a fee.
No one really watched craigslist anymore for cars, honestly it's moved to forums like this, or facebook.
Here at my Honda dealer I just bought a non navi 06 with 85k for $8k right after trade. You should be able to get 9k easily for yours in a private sale as long as it's mint.

Didnt we just go through this with someone else? Use KBB and black book for general prices, look at the new member thread where people post what they pay and then remember location is a major determining factor.
As always you will never get as good a price from a dealer as they looking to make as much as possible on the resale and then there is also the fact that one mans 6 rating may be anothers 9.
Just watch your six when dealing with folks privately but thats your best bet for most money.

Values for trade in
You can really get good numbers for trade in if you negotiate the price of the car you want first (don't mention your trade in). After you settle on a price, bring up the trade in and tell them you need X $amount for trade-in otherwise you'll walk away. Works fairly well.

Null and proud of it
I don't know, but around here, I see 2007-08 TLs going for about $10-12,000 with that mileage, maybe even a little more...
On trade, or just selling to a dealer, you'll likely see between $3-5,000, they like to make 50-75% profit...
My sister traded her 2007 Scion TC with 119,000 miles, she got about $3-3,500, they were asking $9,300, something like that...
I don't they they fixed a thing on it too...
It needed new engine mounts, and a few trim pieces...
My brother also traded his 2008 Ridgeline for a 2008 Suburban, they wanted to give him about $3-4,000 for it, he talked them up to about $9,000, then the dealer sold it for $13-14,000, never again is he buying new...
Don't get low balled...

Dealer trade in is lower than private sale as the dealer will have to put work into the car before it can sold such as new tires, brakes, etc.

I known I can sell for at least $9k private party for someone who wants the car.
