TL-S 6 speed drops down hard in WOT 2nd gear
Wide open in my manual in second gear , when I reach high rpm's it drops hard/hesitates/very quick no power at all, never does this is WOT 3rd gear, or any other gear. Car is at 121, 000 miles , spark plugs ? Throttle body???

ummm.......
you're getting ahead of yourself there, speed racer.
a good driver looks at the tach and recognizes the characteristics of his car.
sounds like you need a driver mod and not the flash pro.
the TL redlines at 7000-7200 RPM at which then the fuel will cut leading to a loss of power drastically.

first thing i thought was you're hitting the rev limiter and the oem rev limiter drop is pretty big...on my flashpro tune we put the drop rpms just a few hundred or so below the fuel cutoff so it's not so rough when it does hit haha (only hit it when tuning to redline)
also flashpro and a tune is not needed if you're hitting rev limiter...
agree with justn...if you don't know your rpms by sound and feel and you have a manual that's not good

I know my car well, I do know my car rpms by revs , sound, and feel, I don't need to be looking at the dash. It is not the rev limiter. I just drove it, opened it up in 2nd WOT, it cut power at about 5000 rpms, it cut it bad this time. It's something else like the throttle body. Don't tell me it is the rev cut off, that is such an easy answer. It's something else. I would have known it was the rev cutoff without having to ask, read the first post.

oh now you know the rpms it cuts off at....
5000 RPM is vtec engagement. vtec needs oil for it to engage.
make sure oil level is at acceptable level.
super obvious, that you dont know your car's characteristics by sight or sound!!
but please check oil level.

I already knew where redline was, there is plenty of oil, it's possibly the throttle body or plugs
Somebody ?? with a suggestion? beside this dumbass

cannot be throttle body.
bad plugs will give you bad power throughout the power range and not just at 5000 RPM.
5000 RPM is vtec engagement.
if oil level is low, vtec will not engage.
but what is strange is that you said that it can engage vtec in third gear.

all i asked was for you to inspect oil level.
if oil level is at full line, then we can move on to the next round of trouble shooting
but you are making it hard to trouble shoot because you think you know more than i do.
if that was the case, you would have already figured out your problem.

if oil level is at acceptable level, it might be APP sensor.
but usually, that will trip limp mode in ALL gears not just one.
same with the oil level, it will put the car in limp mode for all gears and limit it to 5000 RPM.
so, again the third gear into vtec is throwing me off a bit.

The guy you are calling a dumbass has helped countless members on AZ with a plethora of various car problems. He's provided enough helpful information to fill a book.
Now while his demeanour may rub you the wrong way, he's giving you good advice that you are ignoring because you feel you know better. But if you did know better, you wouldn't be asking such questions.
At redline, there is a major loss in power when the rev limiter hits. True story. The engine cuts all power out. You can't even eliminate the simplest item to check because you're too busy street racing to be able to look down.
Go ahead, throw your hard earned money at parts that you likely don't need. Not sure why you think you need a new throttle body, but sure, go do that. And while you're at it, maybe catch up on your maintenance rather than throw sweet mods on your car. That's likely the second and only reason you are having this issue.
Take your lumps and move on. We aren't telling you this information because we are trying to deceive you. There's no shame in admitting you're wrong. We've all been there at one point or another.

I'm here to listen now, if nobody gives smart ass remarks, I will listen.
I cleaned the throttle today, and I checked the oil , it's good. It ran better in 2nd gear, but I need to open it again.
To those you have helped me, thanks. To the others watch your 6.

Holy carp! I just saw my brain, I rolled my eyes so hard.
No one with any real authority or stature ever needs to say "if you knew who I am..."
I know because I've been an internet tough guy for over 50 years.
But good luck with your problem.

Could vtec solenoid have an issue where it's not kicking over?
I think that is to the left of the oil filter if you're sitting facing the engine in the passenger wheel well.
I also think it's not really that sharp to ask for help then be a smart alec. Nobody HAS to offer any help. The fact that they're willing to after name calling an constantly being unappreciated says a lot about their character.

well, now that we know at which RPM the car is bogging down at... we can, through the process of elimination, figure out whats wrong with it
- oil level
- vtec solenoid
- or APP sensor
OP has to report back with oil level + drive test.

Back from the street, car drove smoothly through the rpm band, no hesitation no drop at WOT 2nd gear. Cleaned throttle body and added the 1 qt oil. Runs smoothly now. Thank you.

Yay, add this to the list of members that come on here, add nothing, ask for help, get it, don't thank...and are a total douchebag with name calling and threats thrown in for good measure.
Seriously, a big part of why I stopped bothering with the diy threads.
