3rd and 4th gear pressure switches

I have a 2002acura TLS and my tranny has a hard drop into reverse and a prolonged switch from 3rd to 4th gear. The RPM will rise up and then it will switch into 4th gear a little hard. Now I've already done a 3quart spill ànd fill and put Lucas stop slip in and it helped quite a bit but I can still notice a struggle to get out of 3rd gear around 40 mph. My car only has 89000 miles on it and everything else works great on it. I'm wondering if swapping out these switches will fully fix the problem or if it's a waste of my money.!?! If anybody with more knowledge than me could help me out I would greatly appreciate it thank you...

Sounds like you have classic 3rd gear slipping. I'd look into the threads regarding the AV6 accord trans swap.

Check your shift cable for wear, adjust if necessary.

You might want to try replacing the following.

1. ATF external filter.

2. Shift Solenoid C.

3. 4th clutch pressure switch.

4. Pressure Control Solenoids A/B & C. Check and clean the screens under these solenoids.

I'll try that this weekend I was already planning to clean the solenoids but I didn't know about the throttle cable thanks for the tip.

I removed and cleaned my switches. The CEL went out after that and did not come back.

The switches, a hundred bucks for the two, I sold on the forum.

You need to adjust your A-B solenoid. The tool from Sonnex cost about $20. Resolves N to D delay TC engagement, as well as 3 & 4 shifts up and down.

This thing?
Solenoid Adjustment Tool - 88950-T - Sonnax

Looks like a pretty neat tool. Are there any resources on the web as to how we can adjust the solenoids properly? I'm really interested.
