Fujitsubo Exhaust: Where to Find?

Hey all,

So I've been looking into exhaust options for the 2G RL, and I've settled on the Fujitsubo Legalis Elegant exhaust. The only trouble is there only seems to be one seller for the fujitsubo: visionary racing. Based on what I've been reading here, I would rather avoid them. Anyone know of any alternative retailers to getting one?

You guys make it sound like it's easy  I had less trouble locating a set of brand new TRD springs for my other car, of which only a handful are known to have made their way here in the US. So there isn't a single other retailer in the US? And I thought Toyota parts where hard to locate...

Hell, the Legalis Elegant isn't anywhere on their website

http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/app/webroot/english/

It's like it never existed.

Thank you sir! That answers my question.

oo7spy and tlmaster, I honestly do respect your contributions to this forum, and don't take this the wrong way, just keep in mind that you started somewhere with this car as well. I'm simply at that point.

I'm no stranger to working with my hands on cars, believe me. I bought a parts car for my second car and eventually gutted it for profit since I never needed most of the part in it. I do 100% of my own mechanical work on my cars.

I know my way around Toyotas. You want a special order/custom part for a Toyota, talk to me, odds are I know exactly who to get it from. I will admit, I'm unfamiliar with the Acura side of things. I'm not asking for you guys to like me, all I ask from you is a clear and respectful when I ask a question

I know EXACTLY what it's like a forum veteran, believe me. That's why I avoid forums now. You get yourself wound up over nothing I don't want to come off as an ass, but just figured I'd bring it up, sometimes you lose sight of why you joined the forum in first place.

If you cant find the fujitsubo, I believe king motorsports has the mugen, and chances are they might be able to get it or can point you in the right direction.. Also a lot of the Japanese companies like tien, weds, work, etc would possibly be able to pint in the right direction of rare Japanese parts! Good look I'll be popping in to see how it goes!

It's gonna take a lot more than some polite objections to get me fired up. I spend too much time in Ramblings with the real veterans of AcuraZine. In comparison, Ramblings makes the RL forum feel like the kindergarten play ground, and I am just the fat kid bully around here. You will find that the RL forum is rather slow (we get dragged down by all of the "geezers" as 253RL would call us), and I will jump at each and every opportunity to make myself and hopefully at least one other giggle like a little girl.

So, although I did not contribute in a helpful way to your agenda, hopefully I at least made you smirk a little.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum, and I hope you find the exhaust. I think you are the only person here going for a quieter exhaust, and I can fully respect that. RLs are not supposed to sound like Civics or Cobalts with fart cans under their bumpers. From the man and my idol himself,

oo7spy and tlmaster are good people, they have contributed alot on the forums.
thats why when they post stuff like that, its their way of saying "use the search feature"
and they also are ... look down!

we are a happy group of degenerates post whoring nuggets of value while teaching newbs the importance of searching, while sitting in a small corner of Acurazine representing a dieing flagship of borderline outdated excellence.

Understood Yeah, another thing to keep in mind is I've had a very bitter experience on the other side of forums with Toyota. So forgive me if I come off that way, it's just I have that sour taste in my mouth from that forum... My bad for the misinterpretation! It's really hard to get the nuances of tone in writting!

A get a lot of frowns when I explain to people that I'm looking for a quieter exhaust, and even more frowns when I say that the quieter option gets more power But keep in mind, I'm probably the only 22 year old who went out and bought an RL. I mean, who would have thought, right? That is itself is weird! Like you said, this isn't some Civic or Cobalt, it's a "Geezer-mobile" as some would put it. My goal was to keep it classy right from the moment I bought it, and this gave me that opportunity

Understood Although it really seems no one runs this exhaust. I literally must be the only person looking for a quieter exhaust on this forum Searching didn't really help much oddly enough. I suppose since my other car is a mid-90's family car, even the rare parts generate a whole lot more hits in the search, it's just frustrating not being able to find what you are looking for...

I have a paid off condo and no student loans. What the hell is rent? Although strippers sound nice, but with RL's isn't it more like call girls?

No, I'm the real geezer here.

The Fujitsubo exhaust was damned near impossible to find even when this model of RL/Legend was new. Now that the Legend is EOL it is not surprising that it has disappeared. I agree with finding someone who can import from Japan. It's not on the current products page on Fujitsubo's Japanese web site, so you may be SOL.

There has actually been a recent influx of sub 25 year old owners here that most of us attribute to prices falling below $15k. Still, I bought mine at 23 for $26k, so it isn't strange at all to me. I have always been partial to luxury sedans. Oh, and blondes too!

My '07 cost me 18K after tax, so to a certain extent, you are correct. But even then, think about it, how many sub-25 year olds go out and buy and RL? Most sub-25 year olds would rather buy something else. I've always been partial to luxury cars, Acura in particular. This actually makes my second RL Nah, brunettes are where it's at

Not many do; you are correct. Given a $15-$30k budget, most would go buy a used 3-series or M3. As you can see from my signature, this is my second Legend. Welcome to the club.

I will admit that I was more than fortunate enough to have the help necessary to get out of college without debt, so that helped a lot.

OP, I hope you find your impossible exhaust, but in the mean time, .
