2004 TSX Timing Chain Problem

Hi Everyone,

New to forum and looking for advice/steps to a solution for Timing Chain problem for 2004 TSX 145,000klms.

Dealer diagnose:
- timing chain stretched and jumped of time gear teeth
- crank shaft and CAM shaft timing out of phase
- requires REPLACEMENT of timing chain, guides and upper and lower chain gears and tensioner.
- front row axle seal starting to leak transfluid
- oil pan gasket leaking
- engine is running very rough because time out of phase

Note:
I had troubles starting with winter starting problems and battery trouble. Hard to start in cold. Battery was replaced.

Car stalled three times in last 6 months, most recently few days ago. This latest time was the first time oil change light came on. Never came on before.

In regards to oil, I may not have been good with changes weekly, or by weekly, but rather monthly. I am a city drive and did not drive long distances. But over the last few weeks was on highway more frequently. The car was using up gas and oil very very fast.
There was a little leak of oil that my mechanic, not the dealer thought was not a big problem and let it go.

What should I do to minimize the expense? Dealer say cost will be $3K. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you,
CM
