Talk to NVA-AV6 about the prices. Its not my place to say what I paid/he charges.

Ill make a vid when I can. It will most likely be Sunday because Im going to a meet, but I dont really want to do anything stupid because there are alot of cops out this time of year, especially where I am going.

Yea, its port matched. The TB doesnt bolt up to the stock manifold. The entire neck of the manifold was cut off and reformed. There isnt enough material on the neck to bore it out the way its done on the 7th gen Accord.

Car PC project officially started. I am going to toss the stock headunit back in the car tomorrow just so I can have some music, even if it wont sound good

I tried fixing the Pioneer, but even in recovery it reboots on its own, so I cant actually apply the fix for it and reformate the flash disk I refuse to give Pioneer $250 just to look at the damn thing.

Yea thanks. And fuck, I was hoping for a quick and easy swap

Oh well. I guess we'll go with option 2 but I want to finish up some other projects before I go with that.

Funny story.

I took my car to Nicks place (01clinprocess) to have it detailed for the meet tomorrow. Spent about 10 hours doing it. It looked great. It was late and we were hungry so we all hopped in the car to grab something to eat. We were pulling out onto the main road and I decided to get on it. HARD. Spun through first, slammed it in to second and hear a boom then what sounded like parts hitting the ground. I lost all power.

We coasted into a parking lot and I parked it. I thought I blew up the clutch, but I didnt smell anything out of the ordinary. Climbed underneath and this is what we see:

Yep, snapped the axle. Right at the balancer too. That would explain the light vibrations Ive been having over the past few weeks. Im assuming it started out as a hairline crack and chose tonight to shit the bed.

Im going to try to source a new axle in the morning and still make the meet, but it all depends on it I can find an axle, and how long it takes to get it. Im not even pissed really. I think it was just pretty damn funny. I just hope I didnt damage the LSD at all.

30+ Off Topic posts deleted, and that was AFTER the first 6 or so pages Chris (97BlackAckCL) went to town on. Please keep it ON TOPIC fellas, Especially Jacob and Fries, 1/2 of it was you two alone. Thanks.

On topic, my cousin's s2k has level 5 axles to hold the 1,016hp it makes (In August edition of Modified Mag), if you're interested in beefier axles you could contact The Driveshaft Shop and see what they could do for you also.

I picked up a set Auto Zone cheapies for right now. $149 for the pair with a lifetime warranty.

I picked them up this morning but ended up taking my brothers Accord to the meet. I came home this evening to install them and tried using the super duper special youtube honda ball joint breaker and it wouldnt work for shit. So I have to wait until the morning and get a tie rod end puller.

Pics of the decimated axle will be posted tomorrow.

depends on exacly how it is design to work, but i careful of not destroying the joints boots though
as far as the hammer method, it also helps if you can get someone else to lift knuckle and such up away for thr lowerarm, so once does break frr you know

That sucks about snapping your axle Morgan, the same thing happened to me last summer at an AZ meet, drove 3 hrs away from home, got on it pulling out of a parking spot and boom, axle snapped. Sucks yours went before the meet, but it could have happened at the meet like mine

Im a bit nervous aiming for the knuckle with the RL caliper there. My brother went to work before I woke up so I have to find a ride to Auto Zone to rent the puller. And I do have a new set of lower ball joints. Maybe now is the perfect time to install them

I'm gonna pick up some moog lower ball joints today or tomorrow. Then moog front end links, tie rod ends and upper control are with upper ball joint. All of that is twice as thick as oem.
One of my front endlinks is garbage. So might as well replace it with something beefier

Yea, Ive got the Moog ball joints here. Ive already replaced the tie rod ends, and I want to replace the inners as well (already have the parts).

Im heading out now to do the work. I was originally trying to preserve the old ball joint but now I am going to destroy it to get it out and replace it with the new one.

Depending on the time I may also lower the car some more.

Do you think lowering our cars plays role in the axles weakening over a period of time.

my good friend is the manager of the AutoZone near me so i get everything for commercial price. did you get new or re-manufactured? i first got the reman axles and broke those in 3 months, so i switched to the new and haven't had a problem yet 8 months later...
I feel you when you need parts in a bind. the axles are 500+ from Acura.
