Poor Fuel Economy

I'm averaging less than 300 miles/tank - what do you guys think is the problem; could it be dirty fuel injector or what do you think it could be? I know I should be getting better economy than this...

I don't drive with a very heavy foot - calm accelerations - easy cruising. I'd be able to excuse bad gas mileage with a heavy pedal foot pretty easily but that just isn't the case for me.

Do you have huge rims or a heavy box in the trunk? I have very good luck using cruise control on the freeway to get better mileage. I get 26 MPG with my supercharger, but I also do alot of freeway driving.

What's your average MILES-PER-HOUR as computed on the MID? You can do a search in this forum and you'll see the that lower the MPH the lower the MPG will be. For example, I usually only have an average 26MPH and usually get 19 MPG but I have a city commute most of the time.

So by your < 300 miles per tank criteria, my mileage is bad because I usually have a few gallons left in my tank and thus don't get 300 miles. However, I think I get great mileage for the type of commute I have and the type of car I'm driving. I use to drive a 4-cylinder Suburu that got worse mileage than that.

Injectors could be dirty. Pour some seafoam in the gas tank and smash on it one time.

Hopefully your car should feel a bit smoother upon acceration. Good luck

That's not uncommon for city driving. Mine gets 15mpg in the city due to the super long mis timed redlights here. My average mph is 19mph thanks to these f'ing redlights. Plus I have subs and wider tires.

Like was already mentioned, post your average mph to see if your mpg is where it should be.
