Water leaking into/under backseat...wtf

ok this is getting very irritating, for weeks now i have noticed moisture between the back seat and bottom cushion (where the seatbelts come out) and i never could figure it out. Well i took the bottom part of the seat off and there was 1 to 2 cups of water sitting under the seat and the cushion was SOAKED. after the seat dried and I cleaned it (24hr period) I get in my car to start the rebuilding process and there is MORE water there. it did not rain the night before either. Then I saw its source ... As I was driving I had to slam on brakes and I saw where water gushed out from BEHIND the seat like it was coming from the trunk... but the trunk is dry..... somebody help me please....

probably a plugged sunroof drain or a broken trunk seam.. either way pull all the carpet out of the trunk and diagnose from there

Could be a leak in your rear glass. You might have to reseal the bottom of it.

Most likely a plugged sunroof drain.

there are 2 drains -iirc- in the sunroof track, open sunroof -stand on seat and look on top

or stand on stepstool next to the car

push a wire coat hanger thru there gently or compressed air often works

Look on seal edge of trunk for similar holes- also found on bottem of doors
do those for good measure

did you ck the sunroof drains?
and the trunk drains on the seal edge, and might be one in the lower well area - not sure on that one

I checked the drain hose in the trunk which feeds to sunroof (seems ok). I can't seem to find the drain holes that start at the top of the sunroof.
Fortunately I have removed the plugs in the spare tire well allow for it to drain out. Temporary solution I guess.

I had the same issue. go into yor spare tire well and remove the drain plug. all the water in the spare area is going into your seat. that's why your rear is sagging too.

you have to blow low pressure compressed air thru the sunroof vent lines to be sure they are clear
Same with all the drain lines
or a wire rod like welding/brazing rod will work too- a gentle shoving

water is the last choice,, but it needs to pass the flow thru test

Drain "seems ok"- you mean you just visually inspected it? Or verified it isn't blocked?
