Remanufactured Rack & Pinion
I am getting some seepage from the pinion shaft area on the rack & pinion in my '03 TL-S and I'm trying to put together a plan of action for a replacement unit. I know that rebuild quality of rack & pinions is hit or miss across the various suppliers, but I'm trying to avoid doing this job twice in a matter of a few thousand miles.
Has anyone had any experience, whether good or bad, with any of the aftermarket reman units or the ones sold through Acura that are remanufactured by American Showa?
Thanks!

I own and operate a small independent repair shop. We've been using reman steering racks from Jorgen Automotive for more than 20 years, with zero defects. They are located in Ann Arbor, Mi., and they ship all over the country if not the whole planet. I don't know how their prices compare to everyone else, but if not doing it twice is a priority, I highly recommend them. They are a small, low volume, high quality operation.

Thanks! I will get a quote from them. Certainly, their lifetime warranty is attractive and I like the fact that it's a low volume, high quality operation.
We'll see how their price compares to the Acura rebuilds that can be bought online for around $400 plus shipping.
