Mine is a 1999 TL. When looking up data I find even during searches in here that I get data from 2000 - 2003 not much from my actual year. How much difference do you guys feel there is between them? I'm thinking more like timing belt changes, maintenance, etc. Can I use an article based on a 2001 as reference? I do have a tear down manual for my model, but online information is abundant.

I believe the only difference is the tranny.
and of course the front bumper shape and headlight shapes

 

I don't think that there was a driver's side memory seat on the 1999 - 2001 models, but the 2002 - 2003 cars have that feature.

 

Internal radiator transmission cooling for 99, 00-03 is external.

 

2000 The following was added:
-5 Speed automatic transmission instead of 4.
-Passenger side airbags.
-Switched from a CD based navigation system to a DVD based navigation system.

2001 The following was added:
Emergency Trunk release on the trunk itself in addition to the pass through to the rear seats.

2002:
-Changed the front bumpers and headlights. The rear lights also have a clear turn signal with an amber bulb.
-Redesigned the rims.
-Added a Type-S option.
-Standard fog lights
-Added memory seats.
-Added 6 disc changer instead of 1.
-Added mirror tilt down when in reverse.

2003:

Moved the OBDII port from behind the gear selector to under the dash.


I might be forgetting a few things, but that's the majority.
