Interior driver side door handle broke :(

How simple or difficult is it to replace the interior driver side door handle?

Interior driver side door handle broke :(-gzofram.jpg

If I have to take it to a shop, what is a reasonable price for such work to be done? Thanks!

You mean like only replace the handle? Is that even possible? I thought that part was a complete piece with the door handle trim.

5 minutes... DIY

1. O - Using a small flat head screw driver, pry off the plastic cover. Then remove the philips screw.

2. Slide handle forward/outward until loose and have some clearance to remove linkage.

3. X - Unhook door handle rod by pivoting plastic clip from top/above.

4. Release wire connectors for power lock and seat memory.

Install in reverse order.

If you break the plastic cover tab you can glue/hold it in place with dum dum or equivalent; rubber cement. .. etc. Long as it covers the screw. Can also replace with new but need to match color.

I appreciate the DIY description, but are there any videos out there or pictures that go along with the steps? Don't want to break or screw up anything

Seriously, its that easy. Remove the little cap the covers the screw. Remove the screw, slide the whole assembly like the arrow shows, pull out enough to get to the little clip that holds the rod to the handle, pop clip off of rod pull rod out of handle, unplug wiring. Reverse for install.

It's easy. One little plastic cap that covers a philips screw. Just pop off the cap using a flat head screw driver. Then remove the philips screw. Then the whole assembly is loose and can be slid out a little bit to allow removing one clip. Then slide out some more. Then unplug the wire going to the seat controls. Then slide the assembly the rest of the way off.

$4,500 seems a little steep for a door handle replacement.

That's the price you pay for the best... OEM. And that's with the coupon code "ACURAZINE".

My door handle just broke as well. Looks like a pretty easy fix. I've found the assembly on ebay for 35+ but I didn't know if there was somewhere online I could order just the chrome handle?

No, doesn't work that way... assy only.

New one from vendors here about $38 + maybe Acurazine discount will be little less.
