DIY: 02-03 Fog Light Lens Replacement

To complement Rajca's DIY on 02-03 Fog Light Lens Replacement (https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/lexan-fog-light-fix-painted-fog-lights-diy-694354/), I scanned one of my Lexan replacement fog light lenses so that people could just use the scan as a template instead of trying to measure and draw it themselves. Here is the link to the PDF:

http://files.myopera.com/AMGala/file...%20Drawing.pdf

You can download the file and print it out at 100% scale (make sure Adobe isn't changing the scale in the print menu), and then trace the shape onto the piece of Lexan. The scan is of the passenger's side lens, but obviously to make the driver's side lens just flip the scan (before or after printing it out) and it will be the correct shape for the driver's side.

Hopefully this helps!

Kris, please add this to the DIY thread (I think it was missing Rajca's DIY thread anyways).

Thanks bro! I just posted a need help thread on this topic but looks like you came to the rescue. This saves me at least 1 hour easily. I think I'm going to attempt this this weekend.

Yup, I saw your thread and that's what encouraged me to do this. I was about to paste this thread's link into your thread and then I saw that you replied.

good stuff
maybe you should make a quick diy with everything else too like how to remove the lens assembly and how to put a new one in.

kind of like a more in depth version of rajca's.

I haven't put the Lexan lenses in yet, mine still have the glass lenses because they haven't broken yet.

With the lexan lens, does it shoot out the same output as the OEM glass ones?

The template is very helpful for anyone doing the fog. Lexan will not be as clear as glass and will get dull and turn color over time.

Everyone attempting to do this, make sure to get weather-resistant and heat-resistant lexan. It will help prevent pitting and browning of the lexan. Putting Rockblocker over the Lexan should also help prevent pitting.

Here's a pic of the fogs painted black:

Here's a pic of the fogs painted ABP:

I think that installing HIDs would definitely make up for the lost reflection (assuming you don't put in anything over 6000K).

Maybe it's the white that it doesn't look that good on. I think the fogs still need some kind of reflection similar to the headlights. That's just me though.

So..alls I would have to do would be to take my coping saw and cut the stuff...would that work with glass also..I don't want the foglights to get yellow with time and I'm not taking any risk..so I'm goin with glass..

you have to have a shop cut the glass. glass can be cut at home in straight lines, but curves are something different altogether. you're probably better off buying new housings.

bro thanks for uploading the template but its off. The width is okay but the lenght is short by 4-5 mm. Fortunately I can still cut 2 more pieces of my sheet.
