If you are going to trade don't bother, it won't change the value. It's a difficult replacement. Many here more experienced than I have done it, but I paid my mechanic to do it. He removed the bumper cover and headlights from the car to do it.

I wouldn't go any cheaper than Phillips D2S from Amazon. Cheap bulbs can ruin the projector.
Taking the battery out will aid in replacement. Other options are through the wheel well or removing the bumper and then the headlight assembly. Options listed in order of amount of work, but not necessarily level of frustration.

if absolutely needed, do this.

I would trust Amazon over eBay. Morimotos will run hotter than genuine Phillips or OSRAM, but they will run cooler than fakes.

He said Amazon, not eBay.

That's a good suggestion. I am also into home theater and cheap replacement bulb housings are available from China but lack a UV filter so many on the home theater forums have melted the plastic optics in their projectors with them. A new bulb for my projector cost over $200 while the cheap ones are $70. Similar tech to HID I think, the cheap ones even come with genuine bulbs but the housings and ballast on the RL are too expensive to risk. Use the real deal.
