New RL driver -- Bluetooth Help
New RL driver -- Bluetooth Help
Good evening all!
I am the proud owner of a new-to-me 2006 RL. I wanted to stay under 10k, and this was a great buy!
I am a bit confused by the Bluetooth and was wondering if you might be able to help out.
I understand that I can't stream music from my phone with the factory head unit, but has anyone had any luck using a Bluetooth to 30 pin connector (I have an iPod connection in the glovebox).
Also, I have been using Siri to start phone calls (iPhone 6s +), but haven't figured out how to seemlessly transfer the call to the Bluetooth audio. Sometimes it will pick up automatically, and sometimes I have to change the source to Bluetooth, and then press the dial button to get it over to the car's Bluetooth audio. Is there a good way to do this? I would rather not manually input all my contacts (more than 50) into the phone book.
The car came with no manuals, but I was able to find the owners manual online (not the navigation manual).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't think anyone has tried the Bluetooth to 30 pin unit (I assume you are talking about USASpec BT-45).
If you intiate a call from the phone, you should be able to press the source button and choose BT. What I always did in the RL was use the voice commands to dial the desired number. I only had a few numbers I consistently called, and in pretty good at memorizing numbers though.

I was thinking more about something like this:

Oh, the Apple 30 pin connector. I missed the iPod connection in the glovebox part. I suppose that is Acura's not-so-well-known Music Link? Why not buy a lighting to 30-pin adapter?
The USASpec does plug into the XM module in the trunk.

The 30 pin is in the glovebox, and I was really hoping to use Bluetooth to stream audio if there was a solution using the 'music link'
Seems like the unit you found should work. As long as the music link doesn't have trouble knowing a unit is there, the signal out of a 30-pin connector is analog, so there is no more decoding to do.

iPod connector go buy a 30 pin to lightening adapter. As for bluetooth you need to manually input all your contacts. I ended up buying the Usaspec unit for Acura.
FYI: I just found the new USA Spec Bluetooth for Acura RL. USA Spec BT45-ACU
