Startup problems
Hi everybody,
Every once in awhile, when I turn the ignitiion, my '05 RL keeps trying to turnover but doesn't.
The second try it turns over with no issue. Went to the dealer and they said it was the battery. They checked the fuel filter and it was ok. Got it the battery replaced, no charge,
Yesterday, it happened again, on startup the car wouldn't turnover.
Any suggestions. I have 64,000 miles. No major tune-up or maintenance other than oil/filter, air filter...

The dealer needs to check for excessive current draw. This happened to my RL back in January. The dealer had the car for a few days but ultimately found the problem, and I had no other issues before I traded for my CTS-V.

2020 Acura RLX Advance
My 2006 RL with 53k miles recently started to stumble a few times when starting (long cranking).
A few weeks back, I put a can of BG44K fuel system cleaner in the tank and have not had a problem since.
I also use BG in my 30 year-old 1979 Cadillac (42k miles) and have never had starting / fuel issues.
My mother had the check engine light stay on in her 2001 740iL BMW and no matter what the dealer did the light kept coming back on. I put a can of BG44K in the tank and shortly thereafter the light went out for good.
Worth a try! Good Luck!

My old car had a similar issue...changed batteries 3 times. Traced it to oxidized wires leading to the battery which prevented it from charging. Worth a try if BG44k don't help.
