Catalytic converter - Can we use an Accord part?

So fresh after swapping a whole new motor in the car, i get the 0420 code for emissions (lovely). I swapped the secondary o2 first already in hopes that it was the cheap way out with no luck. So.. i need a manifold/converter.

Looking the part up i find P/N 18290-RJA-A00 for the OEM Acura unit for the RL.

Now i have heard that the V6 accord, odyssey, etc with the similar motor but the P/N is 18290-RCA-A00. I dont like doing the "i heard" thing so im looking for anybody who can confirm the fitment if it in fact will work onto our vehicle the RL with little to no modification.

Would be uber helpful if somebody has already done this and knows where to source it for a great price as well but if not no big deal Bing.Com is my friend and ill do that part if anybody can confirm fitment please.

Thanks in advance.

I think the TL cat you need flows more free and is several hundred less. I'll try and find the part # that retrofits the RL. Running to a NBA game

L's TL has confirmed that the Accord 3.5 V6, 3G TL-S, and RL use the same size cat with the same connections. gman is right about the flow capabilities though and price. The Accord is the most constrictive but cheapest. Then the TL-S and the the RL.

There is a thread about it here. Search with the error code you have and it should come up.
