2019 Acura RDX will be the first Acura to have a full REDESIGN!!! Proto pics page 12

This was exactly what I thought. Took all the good parts from the CX-5 and CRV and threw them into the RDX. But the RDX simply shits on those 2 interior wise. Just one thing I’m wondering about is I expected a digital dash and this one looks like a normal analog dash. I wonder if the production model will be getting the digital dash like the precision concept car.
Edit: Anyone else see what I see on that steering wheel...IT’S HEATED! My favorite feature of all time!

If you see that button/knob above the shift buttons, it says “dynamic mode” on it and that pic with the RDX on the center screen is depicting “dyanamic mode” showing the suspension and drivetrain which implies the RDX is getting adaptive dampeners and a sport mode.

The wheels look good, but they're quite large (tires are 275/45/21!), which is why I don't expect to see them on the production model. 18's standard with 19's or maybe 20's optional.

They look like 20’s, wouldn’t be surprised if Acura went through with them because you can get 19’s and 20’s on normal crossovers nowadays.
Edit: Just seen your edit, I agree that 21’s with 275 wide tires will probably not happen (I hope I’m wrong).
Nice catch on the HUD, didn’t notice that. I don’t think those seat have thigh extenders because there is not button for it (unless it’s manual?). There is a definite upgrade to the audio though.

Looks very sharp! Fingers crossed most of this will make it's way to production.

The 2019 Acura RDX will be debuted Monday at the Detroit Auto Show. Am anxious to see it. My 2016 RDX Tech has 25,000 km (15,000 miles) on it and am thinking of trading up this year. I will entertain the new RDX but I have to say I do like the V6 in my current RDX. I may entertain the thought of moving up to the MDX, although it is bigger than I need. Why does a single guy need a seven-seater? The RDX and the MDX are the big sellers for Acura. Right or wrong, I read that these 2 vehicles sell more units than all their other models combined, therefore Acura has to get this right.

That thing is Fucking. Sick.
Talk about a home run for Acura, once again. I haven't seen a design from them that I've loved so much in almost a decade. But they've definitely got my interest again, now. Bravo.

Although I will not pass judgement on the 2019 RDX until I see and drive it, I can't say that it excites me. The headlights I find a bit garish and from side on I see the new generation CR-V Touring. In the pictures it looks smaller than the current model, however I do not believe that will be the case based on everything I have read. I will be interested in discovering if the '19 will have the same entertainment system with HDD as the last 'Tech" generation had. The interior on first view looks a bit busy but because my '16 RDX has only 15,000 miles on it perhaps I will keep it one more year while I think on the '19.

My exact thoughts. Even the grille looks good on it, I guess since they built the car around that grille vs tacking it on it looks really good and makes sense with the rest of the car. To be honest they had me at SH-AWD.

Summer is Coming
It does look promising, but I wonder how much of this car is production and how much is 'prototype' that will never see the light of day?

Maybe it's just me, but nothing on that car screams prototype. I guess we won't officially know until it actually debuts, but yeah... looks pretty production ready to me.

Looks good, maybe this will be my replacement for my TLX. I just hope the engine/transmission options are geared more towards performance. I want a sport version with at least 330hp. I'm also happy they have the seat heaters/ventilated seats as a PHYSICAL button! Kudos for the covered cup holders with the sliding wood panel. I missed those two things, Reminds me a lot of my 09 TL.

Agreed. The only things I don’t see happening are those massive 275 wide wheels and those thin side mirrors. Otherwise looks 100% production ready to me.

There are four lights!
I was hoping not to the see the touchpad as I hate the god awful tracking on Lexus models, but here's hoping Acura's pad works better. Thinking of moving back to a crossover when my TLX lease is done, and the RDX is certainly a contender. But if Acura nails the next TLX as they did with the upcoming RDX, it will be a hard, hard decision!

At first glance, the rear reminded me of the rav4. Must be the shape of the tail lights. Still wishing they reduced the emblem size by a third. Ive gotten used to the emblem on my 2017 mdx but it would look more proportional if they reduced it a bit. I like the use of leather by the dash, reminded me of the zdx interior. Overall, looks good. Cant wait for the new tlx and mdx.

The image may no longer be up but for sure there was an image with a close up of a speaker and on the speaker it said: “ELS Studio 3D”. We’ll see it tomorrow and learn more then.

1st RDX? Thank you for sharing with us. The link is gone for now
A quick review of these pictures:
Acura simply nailed it! Literally they redefined, redesigned and rebranded Acura with this RDX! I feel like they listened 90% (estimated) to what we all are asking from Acura.
- Beautiful exterior design with nice cureves (I do agree with people, it’s looks like Mazda CX-5, new CRV and even a bit like RAV4 from the back).
- Interior is just wow!!! Beautiful leather seats, HUD, large screen, volume nobe, stitched dash, pano, those amazing buttons for changing seat positions and many more.
- Wait... SH-AWD IS BACK???? Can’t get any better!!!
Overall, this is a great move for Acura brand. I am sure this is very, very close to production and we won’t see too many changes. Tires, side mirrors and few minor other things might change. But definitely this car is production ready.
Good luck Acura and hope this is a huge success and leads to next models like MDX, TLX and etc. Based on these pictures I will be very happy to see Acura RDX with all these cool and modern features.

One of the things that I didn't like upon first sight is the front end. Seems a bit overly busy - almost like they let a kid go a bit crazy with design.
FOR INSTANCE:
If you look at the photo which is a straight on frontal shot: if you look at the grilles at the lower left and lower right corners of the front, wouldn't the car have looked a little more grown-up and tough if they removed the red "knives" protruding out into each grille? Seems a bit unnecessarily busy to my eye.
Another thing I'm hoping for is Apple CarPlay. I have to believe it's included since it is included in the CR-V.
But overall, it's growing on me; I leased a 2018 RDX Advance this past fall with the thinking that I'd keep it until model year 2 of the 2019; meaning, I'll trade this one in in Fall, 2020. Much as I might be tempted this Fall when the 2019 debuts, I think I'd rather wait until model year 2 to let them iron out some of the first year bugs...
PS: I hope they offer the car in premium colors; it's a bit disappointing in the 2017-2018 to see the same RDX colors offered on the CR-V.

So Acura Embargo Poice have been playing Whack-A-Mole with any site that dares to put up photos?
Can't tell for sure but the speedometer/tach appear to be all-electronic, raising hope that one can switch between miles/mph and km/kph, just like my b.i.l. can do on his '14 Equinox. We travel between the U.S.and Canada a lot so it sure would be handy.

First impression is that, like others here have commented, the tail end is very Rav4-looking. Rather than integrate the rear exhausts into the body lines as they did with the 2017 MDX and new generation 2018 Honda Accord giving them a more upscale look, the chrome exhaust tips are left hanging there as with the Mazda CX-5 and the new CR-V. The bright trim styling extending above the doors front to back appear to be copied from the new 2018 Accord. Although the newly revised 2018 Accord pretty much offers all the latest technology as will the 2019 RDX, the dash and console appear neater and cleaner-looking and Lexus-like than in the new RDX which might come across as being overly busy. Side on one can see stylings of the 2018 Honda CR-V Touring. I will miss the front console compartment with the sliding cover which was a great space for slipping the sunglasses, my iPhone, parking meter and bridge tokens, memory sticks loaded with my music, etc. Sometimes it is better to let things grow on you, because I will admit that when I saw the first revised Acura with the "Shield" grill my first thought was not "Man, I have to have one of those!" because I do drive a 2016 RDX Tech. I am going to be anxious to learn about the specs of the engine and the entertainment system, therefore I foresee myself spending more time here checking too see who has the latest information. Will I wait for a new 2019 RDX or perhaps trade my 2016 for a 2018 before they are all gone? We shall see!

The details elude me now, but the show prototype TLX back in early '14 had several differences from the production TLX. Much to my disappointment, they did not offer that gorgeous red color on the production car. We "settled for" Black Copper Pearl on the '15 that we leased. Awesome color in itself but not that gorgeous red. I hope this RDX as shown is close to production style/content and they can have a decent red color.

Love the physical seat heater button! I see a thigh extender too. Like the HUD. There's a camera button on the right stalk - likely for a 360 camera.
Overall desigb looks much like the CX5 which is a good thing - not a lot of originality in this space and Mazda does a great job with exterior designs IMO. I wonder what it looks like without all the enhanced photoshoped highlights/lighting. Probably still very nice.

I don’t want to sounds like an Acura sales person or fanboy but honestly this RDX looks amazing. From design to features, everything looks great!
Acura simply nailed it!!!
Let’s wait until tomorrow to see it live. But I am very positive about RDX.
