Fuel Filter. Is it dirty, to replace or not to replace?
We've had previous threads on the fuel filter. Since a lot of our cars are turning or have long since turned 100+, can we get some input as to what your filter looked like when you replaced it? Along with further discussion on whether or not it is neccessary to replace the fuel filter. Some posted it is maintainance free, a few others said their filters were dirty upon changage. Yet a few of those said they got a bump in MPGs, altho it seemed they had other issues with their fuel system, ie pump was weak and thus perhaps it was not the new FF alone which gave the MPG bump.
Lastly is there for a fact only one fuel filter on the 2nd Gen CLS'? If you are having yours replaced, please demand to see the old one and report back. That is an order.
Green did the board ever come up with the correct part #? https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-2001-2003-50/fuel-filter-468470/
Mega props to mikelee233 for posting the Mitchell On-Demand System instuctions. Anyone, can we get some pics to go with this?
Fuel Filter Removal & Installation (3.2TL)
Fuel Filter is located in fuel tank, attached to fuel pump. Release fuel system pressure, Remove Fuel Pump, Remove fuel filter from fuel pump. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Removal of Fuel Pump. (3.2TL)

FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE
Always relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel injection-related component. DO NOT allow fuel to contact engine or electrical components.
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel filler cap. Place shop rags around fuel pulsation damper ( located on top of fuel rail. ) Slowly loosen damper one complete turn. Fuel pressure is now released. After repairs are complete, remove fuel pulsation damper and install NEW washers. Tighten damper to 16ft lbs. (22 N.m.)

Mods, if enough pitch in can we make a DIY with pics for the fuel filter?
Anyone changing theirs now, please ask to have the old one back. Post how clean or dirty it was.
Smitty and civicking installation pics up in 2005, by they are now red X'd. civics pics were straight out of the HondAc manual:

Smitty or civicking or anyone, can you ressurect pics?
Can anyone changing theirs view the filter to see if it was dirty or not?
Another previous post: don't jump thru hoops changing fuel filter and pump when all it might be is a loose trunk wire:

You guys are so lucky I did this on V 6 P a while ago
I'll copy over the thread info, the filters are the same between Accords and CL/TL's but the pumps are different just a little bit but i've been running the Accord pump for a while.
Bought these parts a few months ago and finally got around to putting in it. Car has about 75000 miles now. You can see the fliter media in the housing, decided to cut open the old one and let people know how it looks inside since I don't remember anyone ever doing this and those threads about the 6th gen fuel filter back in the day.
