Common failures/warranty problems on our cars after 50k miles

I have 43k miles on my car and I am wondering what common "failures" have occured on our cars between 50-100k miles... (i.e. - a/c compressor? fuel pump?)

This will help me decide if I should get the extended warranty, because about the only thing I am positive will fail, is the tranny, but that's covered till 100k anyway since I have an 01 cl...

Thanks...

Don't get the exntended... You have a $1,000 head start by not buying the extended.

I bought it only cause of the tranny. Now I need to call and see if I can get my money back.

Also, if anything breaks after 50K (alternator, heater core, etc) they will probably say wear and tear (and not covered)..

Maybe Jen can shed light on it.

Not a ton of folks on here are past 50k so who knows.

But stupid things going wrong can definetly cost you $$.

for instance.
if the navi fails it'll be the cost of the warranty.

It's a gamble, with the luck I have had with my CLS i will definetly buy it.

OR, if the headunit goes out,

think about this too, anything electrical is covered to 100K.

If you go thru a decent dealership, they won't have a problem replacing things under warranty.

Anything electrical is covered to 100k? You mean with the standard warranty or the extended?

FWIW ,I see these cars quite often with over 50 k on the clock and I don;t see any real chronic failures other than the gearbox which is covered out to 100 k .Ther are things that break but bothing that is really showing a trend like the trans did .
