Hi Guys ,

I am a First timer ....to the grp... I drive a Toyota and I was thinking of buying a CL 01 Type - S ran 30 k miles the dealer told me its 16k .... Car fairly seem to be in nice condition ..... Can you please share your suggessions is it worth buying it.....

if the body/mechanical is good, thats a good price. check for a bad title etc. thru carfax-look it over really good
any warranty, the trans should be a point point of concern too-lot of recalls on the trans

Thank you ... Car is Clean Title ... but it has only 6 months or 50 k milage drivetrain warranty left on it.... I learned from this community that there were cuple of recalls for Acuras 2001 - 2003 ...so before I buy do I have to check or how do i know whether the transmission is good and not requires a recall....

Can I take it to the Acura Dealer after I buy it ..... and ask'em to check for the transmi......

It's first Acura for me it's a CL 98 2.3 I really like it but the first day that I drove it, the check engine turn on, I need to know what kind of gas is necesary use, I don't have my owner manual, I need an advice, I think it happend because I put regular gas.

i believe acura put a 7 year, 100,000 mile warranty on the trans due to the problems, call acura and check if you are covered on that, i believe it is the car not the owner that matters. i know when you get a new car, you have 72 hours to return it if not happy, you'd have to check but i would assume that a used car would be the same, to give you time to take it to your mechanic or in this car the dealer to inspect it. at least thats the law they never tell you about in jersey

you should post in the 1st generation cl board, and i don't know if lower octane gas would do that, i think it just robs your performance
the guys on the 1st gen CL boards could tell you what octane to use, i don't know

There's an 03 6 speed on ebay for $16k. I wouldn't pay more than $12-13 for an automatic 01 out of warranty.
