depends on the gear.
Manual it's 4th gear
Auto is 3rd

it's the gear that's closest to 1:1 ratio

and being that our cars have ss mode, will proably be in that also, so it does not downshift when they don't want it too

but yes as close to 1:1 ratio is normally preferred

With the autos. They put it in D3. They then coast to roughly 55mph. When they are ready to pull, they just floor it. Let me grab some extra Z1 just in case I happen to use it during that time frame, and I'll let you know.

lmfao, you can just do that your self,
but thank god they only get to drive it on a dyno (for 240 seconds at max), plus only like 200 feet and only going straight at that too, but also no backing up either

ahh icz and now i know haha. yeah my friend had mac dyno his car one time in 3rd gear and was confused cause they were suppose to go to his 4th gear *cause his 4th has the closest 1:1 ratio* so it ended up show less hp than what he wanted to see so he never returned to mac because of that and the old man that worked there.

The best tuners in Colorado is either PFI in Fort Collins or Revolution in Colorado Springs. Everyone else are kind of iffy.

still should have compensated for the different gear ratio though, and if anything it should actually show more, due to the increased torque from the shorter gear ratio

your's stays in first too, and you hit that rev limiter would scare someone that doesn't know what it is, i know it scared me the first time i hit it in second.

well his torque was pretty damn good but his hp was just not right. he went to a different place and they had a run in 4th and it showed higher numbers but a smaller amount of torque.

yeah first gear is stupid. Maybe they were bumping that redicorous radio too loud to hear the car.

but not all of us have the stock cat on there anymore though (and it is not just me either), so like i probably would not fast pass easily if i went on there like right now, and even before i put on the hf cat, with the headers on there, the cat seem to lose it's heat very fast, so it would basically stop working quickly (due to no heat retention from the stock exhaust manifolds), but the ecu was still happy with the cat though, and it still fast passed when i had the emissions done (before the hf cat)

anyway i said 240 seconds at MAX in time wise, but yes it should be quicker then that though with a fast pass
OR never with the roadside monitoring, if you pass thoughs enough times and recent enough

it could second chance though and be another 240, you should see some of the car's that fast pass, the cat just needs to be warmed up enough

it is afterall is a girl driving though, so can't expect much from that

but yes should have been apperent though (and remember 2nd goes up to 60-70 or so, can't remember , so if she stayed on city streets, aka never faster then 45 or so, it would have never bounced off the rev limiter, remember it shifts to 2nd gear for you automatically, and downshifts to first)

mine was never very warm though, only like drove it 2 or 3 miles, so it is a very good cat

but yeah some people never even let the car fully warm up before going there, let alone the cat being warmed; and yeah it's the easiest way to help guarantee an easy passing, with a FULLY warmed up car and such

nothing against you, but sometimes there long lines that they like having don't help the cars either, giving them that much more time to cool off some

they don't like having long lines, we get fines if the average wait time is too long, but good drivers warm the cars up first before the test

even then 1st goes to 40 or so, so if she just hits 35, it still would not bounce off the rev limiter

yeah, smart thing is too let it fully warm up then test (even letting it idleing in line will help it get warm and stay warmed), and have had to actually tell some customers that , to help them pass easily)

btw: do you know the number to call for reporting the long lines

yeah.she might of gone 40 too cause of the 5 over thing ppl do haha. but driving like that for more than lik 20 mins is bound to overheat the car.

the cameras and computers do all that, they know how long cars have been there

i am not too sure on the exact speed capable in 1st gear and such, but it should be somewhere around there though

but yeah 20 minutes is unexcuseable though but do remember she was also probably changing speeds and stopping for lights and such, but still it should not have been that long

but then again we had one customer, that saw his oil pressure light turn on (the filter had actually popped off), and accelerated thinking he could make it to the next exit fast enough, and not just pulling over stiaght away, lets just say he siezed his motor up, and it needed a different motor
and we had done his wife's van's motor (it had burned all the oil off though in her case, and not spilled), for also running it out of oil, so some people don't learn very well

i guess they do have that camera taking pictures when you first enter, so yeah you just measure from that point, to when they finally "checkout" to see how long it has been there

btw: the speedbumps for the boulder's station suck ASS, they are unmarked iirc
