When you can afford an M5, no need to worry about gas mileage lol.

Car and Driver or one of the other big car mags did a feature on the EPA Fuel Economy Cycle testing and the people from the EPA reported no change in fuel economy between the two settings. The main reason being that under their driving conditions they don't use all of the power available in P400 mode. So I guess if you're trying to save gas it won't matter which mode you're in. Now if you're trying to save gas in an M5 you should be shot and your car handed over to me

Either way, I find it ridiculous that you'd have to tell your car how much power you want and how fast you want it to shift. Give me a break.

he was toying with you....trust me even the E39 M5 would rape us TL's.....P500 is a big diffirence and from a dig you can use M launch control which is pretty crazy in itself.......Also for those who don't know E63/64 M6 is same motor as the E60M5 both V-10......Also he could have possibly had a 545i or even a 535i and did a body conversion to M5 with exhaust look and everything which I have seen come thru our dealership couple of times, so U never know what the situation was, but hey a Win is a Win.....maybe he just was a really shitty driver who is afraid to go fast and owns the M5 just for status lol.....

M5 in my hands and good luck trying to keep up with me lmao!!!
Imma drive like I stole it!!!

Maybe he was breaking his car in and didn't want to rev too high. I went from TL-S to 550i (not even an M5), and I have to tell you, the performance of the TL-S is no where in the same league.

I've taken the 550i up to over 110mph (late night, deserted highway), and the car still feels planted to the ground; felt like I was doing no faster than 40. No bodyroll, nothing.

I took my RSX to 110 2 days ago and it felt planted? I don't think the price difference from TL-S to 550 is no where NEAR worth it. IMO though, everyone's different.

^^^agreed with him though if I had an M5 I'd be driving it like I stole it too lol.

Maybe he was toying with me I have no idea. I doubt the 535i would keep up with me like whatever this was did. A 545i with the conversion I'd understand, but who does that!?

I'd love to drive a BMW and see their handling capabilities...I hear nothing but "Oooh...Ahhhhh".

Well, even at 110, the car had gobs of power to go. I was no where near what it could do; my TL-S didn't feel the same. My

^ur right thats because those cars are built for top-end auto-bahn tested so yeah it will go further more easy...but at same token my TL-S at 110mph feels very planted and safe, but then again thats just me....Also you'd be surprised how many idiots to the conversion like I said at my dealership I have seen 650i with M6 conversion and 545i with M5 conversion.....funniest one was a 530i with M5 conversion that was just sad sad sad, we all gathered by the fake M5 and just felt bad for the dude.......I'd hate to be that guy if he pulled up to one of us and just get ate for breakfast/lunch/dinner

oh also ...dont sleep on the 535i cuz it is a twin-turbo I-6(N54), (soon to be N55 single turbo twin-scroll) with a simple dinan package stage 2 upgrade and you will be left wondering what happened....but stock 535i auto and you should be able to take it....

I wouldn't soup up the body kit like that but there are plenty of ppl have done that on every car. I.E after market body kits. That guy just happen to love the M5 kit and who know if he love the twin more than the V10. It's an expensive turner's car and you know that.

^^since everyones talking about "fake" M cars yesterday I was going home with my friend and I see in my rear view mirror a sexy bmw with halos, I pull into the right lane for an upcoming red light and and he pulls to the side of me. I look to the left and it's a silver color and then I notice the rims and big brakes, M5!!! (older gen) I almost shit myself because it was the first M5 I've seen in Ohio around my parts.

I let him take off the line first (not racing) and I notice the badges says "M5 540I" hahahah I almost died, the exhaust was stock 540i as well, lmao that is what I call a "German Ricer". Sure his 540 could of still stomped my RSX but you don't see me badgeing mine with some bullshit and converting it into something it's not.

tru maybe he likes the bodykit, but don't place the M5 badge, thats just leading for humiliation, but hey to each it's own....to me thats ricey but hey what do I know some ppl find me ricey for doing a stage4 but I could careless lol...everyone does things for their own reasons, but yeah it most definitely is expensive tuner car

exactly my point...speaking of which saw another 530 come thru the shop sporting the 550i bodykit...car looked real good but damn he put 550xi lmao.....anyone who knows a BMW knows that they don't make all wheel drive 550's unless its the new 550 GT which looks nothing like a E60 550 and more like a 750 wagon

I once saw a e46 330ci M3 SEDAN, complete with the fender gills, dont know why either. Every BMW I have been in has been easy to drive "fast", that is where the oooohs and ahhhhs come from. Most people dont know how to drive these cars fast (I'm pretty good, but still learning).

I'm not a BMW fan except new gen M3/M5 but I have to admit that BMW is already good for handling out of the box for the road course.

majority of the new M5 owners (i meant who bought the car brand new- not used) really are mature enough not to kill someone on the public roads.

I rarely put the car in P500 mode during normal driving. I only use P500 during track session.

When i first got the new V10 4 years ago, i had tons of ricer want to race. Especially the WRX. But i never raced anyone of them. All them would cut next to me and slow down, take off, and slow down again.

I guess those are kill to them. When you get to my age, having fun on the street is too much burden financially. If i hit someone, my a$$ would be in lawsuit for next 50 years. I like fun. But not that much fun.

so the guys who do 530i conversions to M5 are loosers?

so what about the guys who do a TL base to TL-S conversion? They seem cool on this site..

talk about contradiction

Yes.

The 530i and the M5 are 2 completely different cars .. the TL and TL-S aren't very far apart.

Not to mention the price difference between the 530i / M5. .
