I made an appointment at the dealership this Wednesday....I wonder what are they going to come up with...????

 

I left the car at the dealership ,I went there the next morning to make sure that they heard the strange sound it was making(I made sure that the car was not driven until I got there )
Service manager was surprised when he heard it and said that it is the first time he hears something like that....
Than I showed him a copy of an invoice from Pohanka Acura and what was done...
That afternoon they were able to recreate the sound and found the issue...the external transmission filter
It got replaced and so far so good..... Very happy camper here!!!!

You're welcome. I'm happy that my local dealer was able to diagnose and fix the problem. Passing that information on was the least I could do.

Thank you, in 3 days i will have it change by dealer. I hope they have improved this part to avoid doing the same thing in a year. And if it really works there is almost 10 people that are complaining about the same problem that they be happy

 

The replacement works 100%, I drove many times already in -5 deg. weather and all is perfect...I don think that the part is changed or improved, I guess just not enough comlplaints to redesign it....who knows, maybe It will go bad again in a year or so but al least we know what the cause is....

 

For me everything is perfect, cold outside and no more weird noise

 

 

I am usually around the forum but haven't checked on this thread in a while. I am glad you guys figured out the cause and it couldn't have come in a better time as the weather now gets colder the noise is starting to annoy me again. I will make an appt and have that part changed ASAP. I've been waiting since Feb for a fix, thanks a lot Mojo and the rest for keeping this thread alive!!

The AWD cars have had am "external" transmission fluid cooler and the FWD cars also have it as of 2012. Interesting.

The service mgr I have dealt with before is a good guy but I can't recall his name right now.

 

It is the filter that is making that noise....
The service manager I was dealing with was Roman...

 

The problem is they didn't improve the part itself so it could do the same noise in few months

 

I have been hearing this noise now for 6 months and could not describe it. Im going to replace the filter asap, and report back. thanks!

Thanks guys, my car made the same sound and I had Camco Acura in Ottawa change mine under the TSB . Thanks for staying on this until it was resolved, you've helped us all.

 

i want to thank you all as well and for the TSB.

just purchased a cert used 12 TL awd adv. and every morning during start up it makes this noise.

 

This forum is awesome!! Experienced a similar noise in my '12 TL that I picked up last week and started hearing the gurgle during cold start ups. One quick search and I found the sound clip kcarr91 put up here:

Has anyone tried a Magnefine filter in place of the OEM?
