Liquid Gurgling Sound When Starting Engine

I here a gurgling sound when I fire up my TL after it's been sitting for a while. Any ideas of what this is? Is it normal?

For clarification... This sound is heard after initial start up...while idling.

Yep it is the external transmission fluid filter. See my thread when i had the same problem.

My '12 does the exact same thing. Typically, it only happens first thing in the morning. It lasts a couple of seconds and then it's over.

Does anyone know how long this repair would take? Also, what are the risks of not getting it repaired? I will have mine fixed but just curious what would happen if I did nothing. Thankfully, I'm still under warranty.

I changed my external trans filter two weeks ago when I reached 30k miles. I was surprised how “dirty” the fluid was when I drained the old filter. I haven’t cut it open yet. It’s located under the battery tray. I had difficulty getting the clamps off until I borrowed my Dad’s long reach dual pivot (wide opening jaw) pliers.

Based on this gurgling issue and the filter fluid condition I plan to change it every 30K miles for my piece of mind.

Filter part number is 25430-PLR-003 (~$18 with 30% off list)

Yeap it's the Tranny filter (there's a TSB) for this .... it only happends in the mornings in cooler weather. they (dealer) said it was'nt covered under warrenty so they had to check with ACURA and they told them to fix it. it was the second time I had the car in for them to hear the noise (dealers don't want to fix anything...just do expensive oil changes)
