has anyone ever used one of the kits? considering doing one in 3" for a cheaper alternative than the off the shelf systems. just curious if the bends and lengths are good with no need for modifying

I'm definately interested in going that route, just curious what size mufflers we would need to purchase or if it goes the whole length of the car then you just trim out what you need. Also curious what tips look good on this car with a 2.5" inlet, I wouldn't reuse stock if I got this. 2.5" stainless for $245 is an awesome deal.

im sure the standard magnaflows would work and seeing its kind of a diy kit you could make slight alterations if needed.

Just curious, since I noticed on their site they list the pipes for the 2G as well, how similar are the catbacks between the 2G, 3G, and 4G? They look like the same basic layout on all 3, and there's catbacks for the 2G and 4G cheaper than the 3G, I'm wondering if the other ones would fit well, I don't really care about the brand since I can always swap the mufflers or tips after the fact.

I hate when companies don't respond to emails. Maybe try calling them for a faster response?

For now I'm gonna swap my resonator, already have muffler deletes, if I ever do any mods that really warrant it I'll give them another try but for now I don't need it, all I asked was what was the length of the pipes to see what size mufflers you need and they ignored me.

Be careful swapping out your resonator with the RV6 V3 J-pipe. I'm going through an issue now with a little bit of rasp. I have the V3, mid muffler delete, stock mufflers, and added the Dynomax resontor that people put in for the stage 3 exhaust mod and I get a little bit of rasp when going WOT or accelerating rather quickly, but not quite WOT. I ordered an 18" Dynomax resonator to put in to see if that cures the little bit of rasp I get. If not I will add the 12" resonator to the 18" one or I will just put the damn stock resonator back in.

A little rasp is okay with me, I have zero rasp with 2 mufflers deleted and the J pipe, I'm personally partial to raspy V8 exhaust, doesn't sound as good on a VTEC though lol, a little is okay though. I'm having my buddy weld it in tomorrow so I guess I'll find out lol.

So I take it the layout is way different? Sounds like it wouldn't be much better than starting with a few bends and some pipe.

I was just going by your sig. If you have the V3 J pipe and just the rear mufflers deleted you probably won't get any rasp because you still have the stock resonator in and mid muffler. If you go deleting either or both of them, I wouldn't be surprised if you get some rasp. Let me know how it goes.

So basically you get a stainless steal pipe bent to the specs of your car seems to by the time you weld on flanges, mufflers, and everything else you are better off buying a kit from a reputable vendor here.

Not paying for any welding and get the mufflers at great prices since I sell parts for my friends shop.

If you can weld yourself it seems way cheaper than buying a premade one, also probably cheaper/better than getting custom bent pipes if you wanna go larger, curious to see the fitment when installed.

Atlas, how much are you getting mufflers for?

So you basically proved my point in your statement you sell parts for your friends shop meaning you get to do work/get parts for a discount.

Still factoring in the time, margin for error and the fact you actually have to take measuements and ensure a proper fit it's worth it to buy it from a vendor who has already mastered this even if it costs $100 more if you don't see my point I don't understand how you are allowed to drive.

Pretty harsh there chief...no need for the attacks. Besides I don't think there's a vendor here who has "mastered" the 3" exhaust...so there goes your point...

I see your point. And it's going to cost more than just a $100 more.. if you say retail is 120-130 per muffler +or-5... let's just say 250 for mufflers, no resonator, 345 for piping. That's $595 for materials. Add in welding 100-150 at most $695-745. So tour saying I can get a 3" exhaust from a vendor for $795-845? Add 125-150 for a resonator.

Also the three vendors on here that offer exhaust... well this is for my Accord mad those vendors don't make a 3" exhaust for my car. Also I can't remember Amy of the ones they offer being 3".
